Mets @ Pirates

Friday night in Pittsburgh, the Mets come in after winning three straight, while the Pirates return home looking for answers after a tough road trip. I’m taking New York to keep rolling. I like the Mets’ lineup in this matchup. Carmen Mlodzinski is making his first start since May after pitching out of the bullpen, and New York can load up with left-handed hitters, who have given him more trouble. Carson Benge and Francisco Lindor are hitting the ball hard, while Jared Young and Luis Torrens make the lineup deeper after the Mets scored plenty of runs in their sweep of Cleveland. Zac Thornton could be due for a step backward, but Pittsburgh has scored only two runs in each of its past three games and is missing several important hitters. These teams are more evenly matched than their records show, and I’m getting a better payout on the team with the hotter offense. I’m taking the Mets to win.

Blue Jays @ Phillies

Friday night at Citizens Bank Park, two newly acquired starters take the mound. Toronto is trying to settle a depleted lineup, while Philadelphia is looking to build on a strong homestand. Zack Wheeler is the difference for me. He has pitched at an elite level, limits mistakes, and handles hitters from both sides. Toronto is missing Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Nathan Lukes has been ice-cold atop the order, and rookie Brett Bateman is making his debut. José Soriano has pitched well lately, but there are signs he is more vulnerable than his recent results suggest, especially against Philadelphia’s deep group of left-handed hitters. Philadelphia’s heavily used bullpen and a possible weather delay bring some risk, but I still see the Phillies having the clearer path to winning by at least two runs. I’m backing them to do exactly that at close to an even return.

Reds @ Nationals

Friday night at Nationals Park, the Reds come in riding a four-game winning streak while Washington tries to settle down at home. Cincinnati has the momentum, but I think the difference here is the starting pitching. Cade Cavalli has put together five straight strong starts and has allowed very little damage in his last three. His curveball and sweeping breaking ball give him two good ways to finish hitters, and Cincinnati’s lineup has plenty of right-handed bats, which is the side Cavalli handles better. Chase Petty, meanwhile, is being used more like a pitcher who starts the game briefly, leaving the Reds’ relief pitchers with more innings to cover. Washington’s lineup is less dangerous without James Wood, so I’m not counting on a comfortable win. But I trust Cavalli to give the Nationals the edge through the first six innings, and their rested best relief pitchers can close it out. I’m taking Washington to win as a slight favorite.

Braves @ Yankees

Friday night in the Bronx, two teams built for October open a big series in warm weather. Atlanta comes in on a long winning streak, while former Braves ace Max Fried faces his old club for the first time. I’m backing Fried to locate his pitches, limit solid contact, and cool Atlanta down. He has been excellent at keeping runners off base and has barely allowed hitters to square him up. Since returning, he has kept runs down and struck out plenty of batters. The rested Yankees also have a deep bullpen ready behind him. Tyler Mahle has pitched better lately than his overall results suggest, but New York still has the clearer path to scoring. The Yankees’ left-handed hitters can take advantage of the short right-field fence, and Mahle has to handle them in his Braves debut after a rough last outing. Atlanta is hotter, but I’ll take the Yankees to win at a reasonable price because they have the better starter, home field, and more rest.

Angels @ Marlins

Friday night under the closed roof at loanDepot park, Miami is back home after getting swept badly in Atlanta. I like the Marlins’ chance to end their losing streak against an Angels team still searching for stability after the deadline. George Klassen throws extremely hard, but he has walked far too many hitters in very little time, so I cannot trust him. Miami can load its lineup with left-handed hitters and hitters who can bat from either side. Those walks, combined with hard-hit balls, could give the Marlins an early lead. Tyler Phillips has been much steadier, giving up only a couple of runs in each of his past three starts, while the Angels have struggled badly to score lately. Miami’s shaky relief pitchers make me unwilling to bet on the Marlins winning by multiple runs, even with the bigger payout. I’m accepting the higher price and only asking Miami to win, no matter the margin. The Marlins have the better starting pitcher here, so I’m betting on them to win.

Athletics @ Red Sox

Fenway is buzzing, Boston is rolling, and the Athletics come in having lost eight straight. Friday night’s opener gives the Red Sox a chance to keep the pressure on a team that hasn’t been able to stop the slide. I’m taking Boston to win by at least two runs because the Red Sox have the edge everywhere that matters. Payton Tolle has pitched well, while Jack Perkins has struggled against a Boston lineup that can hit for power from top to bottom. If the Red Sox knock Perkins out early, they can go after an Athletics bullpen that has given up plenty of runs lately. My concern is that Boston’s bullpen may be tired after Thursday’s extra-long game, and this pick doesn’t leave much room if it stays close. Still, I trust Tolle to save those relievers, and Boston’s offense has the better chance to pull away. I’m backing the Red Sox to win by at least two runs.

Guardians @ White Sox

Friday night at Rate Field brings together two teams trying to end three-game losing streaks, but I see a big difference in their starting pitching. Chicago is coming home after a draining extra-long loss Thursday, while Cleveland starts Parker Messick. Messick has been excellent and has allowed very little lately while piling up strikeouts and barely walking anyone. Noah Schultz has struggled, hasn’t lasted four innings in either of his last two starts, and now faces a Cleveland lineup that can force him to throw a lot of pitches. If Schultz leaves early, Chicago will have to lean on a tired group of relief pitchers. Cleveland’s recent struggles and its own tired relief pitchers keep me from betting on a comfortable win. Still, I can’t pass up Cleveland’s clear starting-pitching edge, and I trust the Guardians more late if the game stays close. I’m taking the Guardians to win.

Twins @ Brewers

Friday night under the roof in Milwaukee, the first-place Brewers open the series on a three-game winning streak. I’m backing the home team to pull away and win by at least two runs. Shane Drohan has the stronger overall game, especially because his fastball and slider get hitters to miss or make weak contact. Minnesota still has a few dangerous right-handed hitters, but Byron Buxton is out, and the lineup has been held to three runs or fewer in four of its last five games. Zebby Matthews, meanwhile, has struggled this season and had a rough July, while allowing enough solid contact for Jackson Chourio, Jake Bauers, and William Contreras to hurt him. Milwaukee also has the clearer advantage once the starting pitchers leave. Its bullpen has been excellent all season and especially strong over the past week, while Minnesota’s relievers have been less reliable. I’ll pass on the safer but expensive bet and take the better payout on the Brewers to win by two or more.

Cubs @ Royals

Friday night brings clear skies at Kauffman Stadium, where Kevin Gausman makes his Cubs debut and Daniel Lynch moves out of the Royals’ bullpen for his season debut as a starter. Chicago comes in on a winning streak, while Kansas City is still trying to overcome its lack of pitching depth. I trust Gausman more than his results suggest. He has pitched better than his record looks, and his splitter is still a strong finishing pitch that gets plenty of swings and misses. Lynch has been excellent out of the bullpen, but starting is a different job. If he cannot pitch deep into the game, the Cubs will get an early shot at a Royals bullpen that has allowed too many runs and baserunners. Chicago has the deeper lineup, the stronger bullpen, and the better recent form. Pete Crow-Armstrong is hitting the ball hard, Alex Bregman just came through with another big late swing, and the Cubs can score in several ways even in a park that favors pitchers. The price is steep, so I’m simply taking the Cubs to win instead of asking them to win by multiple runs.

Orioles @ Rangers

Friday night under the closed roof in Arlington, two teams with nearly as many losses as wins meet with little room for error. Texas is rested and has won two straight, while Baltimore played Thursday and has struggled to score consistently. Shane Baz has pitched well lately, but Texas can use five left-handed hitters against a right-hander who has struggled more against them. Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Brandon Nimmo give the Rangers a favorable matchup near the top of the lineup, while Nathan Eovaldi’s splitter and curveball should challenge an Orioles lineup that has barely hit in August. Eovaldi has been inconsistent lately, so I’m not highly confident, and the price is not cheap. Still, Texas has the better lineup setup, more rest and home field, so I’m backing the Rangers to win.

Rockies @ Cardinals

Friday night at Busch Stadium, the Cardinals are back home and trying to move above a losing record. I’m backing St. Louis to win the series opener. Kyle Leahy has pitched well lately and has been reliable at Busch, though his trouble with left-handed hitters is a concern against Colorado. Ryan Feltner is the clearer pitcher to attack because he has struggled badly lately and hitters from both sides are making hard contact against him. Alec Burleson is crushing the ball, and St. Louis can surround him with plenty of left-handed hitters. The Cardinals have the bigger advantage once the starting pitchers leave. St. Louis has the better defense and a much more dependable group of relief pitchers, while Colorado’s relievers have struggled. Leahy’s warning signs keep me from betting on a bigger margin, but the Cardinals have the stronger path to winning the game. I’m taking St. Louis to win.

Astros @ Padres

Friday night in San Diego, two hot teams meet with playoff pressure starting to build. I’m backing the Padres in Robbie Ray’s debut with the team. Ray has pitched very well lately, and he can get hitters to swing and miss against a dangerous Houston lineup. Ronel Blanco has struggled since returning and hasn’t gone deep into games. Now he faces a Padres lineup with several dangerous left-handed hitters. If the game comes down to the relievers, I trust San Diego more. Houston’s rested lineup should keep this close, and there are signs Ray may not keep pitching this well. Still, I like San Diego’s starting pitcher, home-field advantage, and relievers enough to pick the Padres to win.

Dodgers @ Diamondbacks

Friday night under the closed roof at Chase Field, the Dodgers come in looking to end a long losing streak with a lineup capable of doing it in a big way. Los Angeles is rested, while Arizona is finishing a demanding stretch. I give Roki Sasaki the edge on the mound. He has been much tougher to score against lately, is missing more bats, and looks like he has truly turned a corner. Merrill Kelly has struggled badly, especially at Chase Field, and hitters have been making damaging contact against him. That is a tough matchup against Ohtani, Freeman, Muncy, Tucker, and the rest of this Dodgers lineup. The cost kept me from simply betting the Dodgers to win, so I’m taking them to win by at least two runs. Arizona’s relief pitching is the biggest danger to that margin, which means Los Angeles needs to get to Kelly early and give Sasaki some breathing room. I’m betting the Dodgers break through early, end the skid, and win comfortably.

Rays @ Mariners

Friday night in Seattle, Tampa Bay comes in on a winning streak while the Mariners have recently struggled to score. Seattle is favored at home, but I’m backing Tampa Bay as the better team with a chance to win me a little more than I risk. Drew Rasmussen gives me the edge among the starting pitchers. He has allowed very few runs lately, piled up strikeouts, and barely walked anyone. He has also done a better job than Logan Gilbert at limiting solid contact this season. Gilbert is capable, but Tampa Bay has already beaten him once, while Seattle’s hitters have struggled to score consistently. Tampa Bay’s relief pitchers seal it for me. They have been excellent, keep runners off base, and should be fresh after a day off. Seattle’s relief pitchers have struggled lately and are missing Cole Wilcox, giving Tampa Bay the clear edge late if the game stays close. I’m picking the Rays to win.

Tigers @ Giants

Friday night at Oracle Park, with the marine air settling in, I’m backing Detroit to keep its strong road trip going and beat San Francisco. I trust Keider Montero to give the Tigers the steadier start. He has pitched well lately and has handled hitters from both sides of the plate. San Francisco is using JT Brubaker briefly on short rest before turning things over to the bullpen, and that is a tough setup against a Detroit lineup that has been scoring runs in bunches. Oracle Park could take away some of Detroit’s power, but the Tigers are getting production throughout the lineup. The Giants have been struggling and were held scoreless in their last game. San Francisco is rested and Detroit played yesterday, but I still prefer the Tigers because of the starting pitching and the way their offense is playing.

MLB · Mets @ Pirates

Carmen Mlodzinski

Carmen Mlodzinski hasn't made a start since May 25, working out of the bullpen for the last two months. Now he's being pressed into a spot start because Mitch Keller hit the injured list. Pitchers transitioning from a short-relief role aren't stretched out to suddenly throw 75 pitches, making 13 outs a massive ask. Add in the heavy threat of rain and thunderstorms in Pittsburgh tonight that could cause a delay and end a starter's night early, and this under is the most logical play on the board.

UNDER 12.5 Pitcher Outs-129
MLB · Mets @ Pirates

Carson Benge

The rookie is absolutely locked in right now. Benge just ripped through Cleveland, homering on Tuesday and Wednesday before adding an RBI triple on Thursday. Tonight he gets a spot-starter in Mlodzinski who has struggled with left-handed bats, allowing a .755 OPS and six of his seven total home runs to lefties this year. With the way Benge is swinging it and the favorable platoon advantage, getting this kind of plus money for him to find a gap or notch a couple hits is tremendous value.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+145
MLB HR · Mets @ Pirates

Francisco Lindor

Lindor's locked in right now — four homers and twelve RBI over his last fifteen games, and he went deep again just last night in Cleveland. He's a switch hitter, so tonight he's swinging from the left side against Mlodzinski, and that's exactly where Mlodzinski has been hittable all year — a near-.760 OPS and six homers allowed to lefty bats compared to a sub-.600 OPS and a single homer against righties. Everything about this matchup plays into a strength he's already showing every night. I'm comfortable leaning on him here.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+525
MLB HR · Mets @ Pirates

Carson Benge

Nobody in this lineup is swinging it better than Benge — nine hits in his last twenty-six at-bats, two home runs, and a slugging percentage over 1.000 across his last seven games. He's a lefty bat hitting cleanup, and Mlodzinski's split says the same thing it says for Lindor: this is a pitcher who's had real trouble with left-handed power this season. Benge is squaring the ball up hard and not missing much when he swings it. At this price, a piece of that form is worth the play.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+800
MLB HR · Mets @ Pirates

Brett Baty

Baty's sample is thinner than the bats ahead of him in this order, but the shape of it is the same — a home run in each of his recent stretches and hard contact whenever he connects. He's another lefty bat facing a pitcher who's given up six homers to left-handed hitters against just one to righties, so the matchup is doing him a favor even if his spot in the order — seventh — isn't, since he won't see as many pitches as Benge or Lindor. Priced long enough that I don't need it often.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+650
MLB HR · Mets @ Pirates

Marcus Semien

Semien's the hottest name on this board by recent rate — three homers in his last fifteen games, including one just last night — but he bats right-handed, and that's the side Mlodzinski has actually handled well this year, a sub-.600 OPS and only one home run allowed to righties all season. That's a real strike against this one next to the lefties in the same lineup, and it's why I'm not leaning on it as hard. But a hitter running this hot at a price this long is still worth a small piece, even against the tougher side of the matchup.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+900
MLB · Blue Jays @ Phillies

Zack Wheeler

As I mentioned in my game cap, Zack Wheeler is the true separator in this matchup. His 2.59 xERA fully supports the surface numbers, and tonight he faces a Toronto lineup missing its biggest threat in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. With an ice-cold Nathan Lukes leading off and a rookie making his debut at the bottom of the order, this is a prime spot for Wheeler to cruise. Add in the threat of a potential weather delay that could cut his night short, and grabbing the under on his earned runs at plus money is a terrific angle.

UNDER 1.5 Pitcher Earned Runs+102
MLB · Blue Jays @ Phillies

Bryce Harper

Jose Soriano brings elite velocity to the mound, but command has been a persistent issue this season, as he has issued 57 free passes across 123 innings. Bryce Harper's eye is as sharp as ever right now, drawing five walks over his last three games alone. Soriano will likely try to nibble around the edges against Philadelphia's most dangerous hitter rather than challenging him over the plate, making this plus-money price on a single Harper walk a great value.

OVER 0.5 Walks+115
MLB · Reds @ Nationals

Cade Cavalli

Cade Cavalli has been a machine when it comes to eating innings lately, delivering exactly six frames (18 outs) in each of his last five starts. He is facing a Reds lineup that is swinging a hot bat but also strikes out at one of the highest rates in the league, which should help him keep his pitch count in check. With Washington leaning on him to provide stability after a rough stretch, I expect him to navigate this lineup efficiently enough to get us through the sixth inning again.

OVER 17.5 Pitcher Outs-109
MLB · Reds @ Nationals

Elly De La Cruz

Getting plus money on a prop that has hit in 10 of a player's last 15 games is the exact kind of value I look for. Elly De La Cruz has been exceptionally patient during Cincinnati's recent hot streak, drawing a free pass in three of his last four games. Pitchers are inherently careful when he steps into the box, knowing his power can alter the scoreboard instantly and his speed makes him a nightmare on the basepaths. Whether it’s Cade Cavalli nibbling at the edges or a reliever losing command later in the game, I’ll gladly take these odds on Elly working a walk tonight.

OVER 0.5 Walks+142
MLB · Braves @ Yankees

Max Fried

Fried is facing his former teammates for the first time while still building his pitch count back up after a long stint on the injured list. He threw 78 pitches in 5.1 innings his last time out, and even if his leash is slightly longer tonight, getting 17 outs is a massive ask against a Braves lineup that has won eight straight and put up 27 runs in its last four games. Atlanta will work deep counts and test his stamina in the humid August heat. Playing the under at near even money is the smart read.

UNDER 16.5 Pitcher Outs-105
MLB · Braves @ Yankees

Austin Wells

We are getting plus money for a single hit from a guy who is absolutely scorching the baseball right now. He might be buried at the bottom of the order, but Wells' contact quality over the last two weeks jumps off the page — a massive 96.3 mph average exit velocity with five hard-hit balls and two barrels on just eight balls in play. Tyler Mahle is making his Braves debut after a rocky July, and Wells only needs to square up one mistake to cash this ticket.

OVER 0.5 Hits+105
MLB · Angels @ Marlins

George Klassen

As I mentioned in the game preview, George Klassen has electric raw stuff but absolutely zero idea where it is going. The rookie has made two big-league starts this year, logging a combined 4.2 innings, and has walked exactly five batters in both of them. He is issuing free passes at an astronomical rate, and against a Marlins team that can simply stand in the box and wait him out, asking for three walks at this price feels like a steal.

OVER 2.5 Pitcher Walks-117
MLB · Angels @ Marlins

Griffin Conine

If we are banking on George Klassen's wildness, we should back one of Miami's disciplined hitters to capitalize. Griffin Conine hits in the heart of the order, ensuring he will see Klassen at least twice before a pitching change. Over his last 15 days, Conine boasts a very patient 19% chase rate, meaning he will not bail the rookie out by swinging at pitches off the plate. At plus money, this correlates perfectly with my read on the Angels' starter.

OVER 0.5 Walks+128
MLB · Athletics @ Red Sox

Jack Perkins

Jack Perkins brings a 6.72 ERA to Fenway Park to face a Boston lineup that has been terrorizing pitching staffs during an eight-game win streak. The Red Sox are averaging 6.6 runs per game over their last 10, crossing the plate 12 and 14 times in two of their last three games. Perkins surrendered six earned runs to the Tigers in his last outing and allows a hard-hit rate north of 37%. Boston's bats are locked in and shouldn't have any trouble pushing at least three runs across against him.

OVER 2.5 Pitcher Earned Runs-124
MLB · Athletics @ Red Sox

Payton Tolle

Tolle has cleared this 6.5 strikeout mark in four of his last five starts, striking out exactly seven batters in three of those and punching out nine against Baltimore a couple of weeks ago. Oakland's lineup is reeling during this eight-game slide, and the Athletics swing and miss enough to fuel Tolle's numbers. With Boston's bullpen severely taxed after Thursday's 13-inning marathon, the Red Sox need Tolle to pitch deep into this game, giving him plenty of runway to rack up the punchouts.

OVER 6.5 Strikeouts-132
MLB · Guardians @ White Sox

Noah Schultz

The White Sox are sending Noah Schultz to the mound tonight, and he draws a Guardians lineup desperate to snap a brief losing streak. Schultz carries a 5.82 ERA and has surrendered three or more earned runs in five of his last six starts.

OVER 2.5 Pitcher Earned Runs+130
MLB · Guardians @ White Sox

Parker Messick

Parker Messick has been Cleveland's most reliable arm, and his recent game logs read like a broken record in the best way possible. Over his last five consecutive starts, he has allowed exactly one earned run in each outing — including a July 4 assignment against this very same White Sox lineup.

UNDER 1.5 Pitcher Earned Runs+105
MLB · Twins @ Brewers

Shane Drohan

Shane Drohan has been carving up lineups over the past month, clearing the six-strikeout mark in five of his last six starts. The rookie left-hander features a four-seamer and slider combination that generates elite whiffs — 34% on the fastball and nearly 44% on the breaking ball. The Twins aren't overly strikeout-prone, but getting plus money on a number Drohan clears this consistently is an absolute gift.

OVER 5.5 Strikeouts+118
MLB · Twins @ Brewers

Jackson Chourio

If you want to talk about elite contact, look no further than Jackson Chourio. Over his last 18 balls in play, he's recorded 14 hard hits and five barrels, with a scorching 97.1 mph average exit velocity.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+105
MLB · Cubs @ Royals

Daniel Lynch IV

Daniel Lynch IV is making his first start of the year after working exclusively out of the Kansas City bullpen, and he just pitched an inning of relief on Tuesday. Manager Matt Quatraro said the Royals are taking a shot at starting him but will do it "responsibly," which is manager-speak for a very strict pitch count.

UNDER 7.5 Pitcher Outs+108
MLB · Cubs @ Royals

Pete Crow-Armstrong

Pete Crow-Armstrong is putting together a massive stretch at the plate. He's batting .333 with a 1.181 OPS over his last 15 games, and the contact quality backs it up entirely — he's averaging a 94.2 mph exit velocity with 11 hard-hit balls in his last 18 put in play.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases-110
MLB · Orioles @ Rangers

Nathan Eovaldi

Eovaldi has been a strikeout machine recently, eclipsing this 7.5 mark in four of his last six starts with totals of 8, 10, 9, and 9. He draws an ideal matchup tonight against a Baltimore lineup that is reeling, batting just .159 as a team in August. Eovaldi's curveball and splitter are elite swing-and-miss pitches, and five Orioles in tonight's starting nine carry recent whiff rates of 29 percent or higher. Getting plus-money on Eovaldi to rack up eight punchouts is too good to ignore.

OVER 7.5 Strikeouts+112
MLB · Orioles @ Rangers

Brandon Nimmo

The Rangers have a distinct platoon advantage against Shane Baz, who yields a .285 average and a .787 OPS to left-handed hitters. Brandon Nimmo is swinging a scorching bat right now, hitting .409 over the last week with two homers and a double, clearing this total bases number in three of his last four games. At +131, we are getting a great price on a locked-in lefty swinging right into the teeth of Baz’s platoon weakness.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+131
MLB · Rockies @ Cardinals

Willi Castro

The market is completely sleeping on Willi Castro's daily production. He has eclipsed 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs in 13 of his last 15 games, yet we are getting +115 on the over tonight.

OVER 1.5 H+R+RBI+115
MLB · Rockies @ Cardinals

Ryan Feltner

Ryan Feltner is catching far too much of the plate right now, and the results have been ugly for a month. Over his last six starts, Feltner has surrendered at least six hits in five of them (8, 9, 7, 6, 6, and 5).

OVER 5.5 Pitcher Hits Allowed+103
MLB HR · Athletics @ Red Sox

Ceddanne Rafaela

Ceddanne Rafaela has cleared this prop in six of his last 15 games, yet the market is hanging +850 on him to do it again tonight. That price completely ignores the current form of a guy hitting second in a lineup that has scored 30 runs over its last three games.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+850
MLB HR · Athletics @ Red Sox

Wilyer Abreu

Wilyer Abreu is absolutely obliterating the baseball right now, racking up four home runs over his last seven days and barreling five of the 22 balls he's put in play. He brings a 94.7 mph average exit velocity into a matchup against Jack Perkins, who is bleeding hard contact and struggles to keep the ball on the ground. Even if Boston chases Perkins early, Abreu will get looks against an Athletics bullpen that has surrendered 23 earned runs over its last seven games. Hitting in the heart of a scorching lineup, Abreu is primed to take advantage of the 92-degree heat and a volatile pitching staff.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+450
MLB HR · Orioles @ Rangers

Brandon Nimmo

Brandon Nimmo has been swinging a hot bat for Texas, launching a pair of homers over his last four games and hitting .409 over the last week. Tonight he draws right-hander Shane Baz, who carries a stark platoon split. Baz has allowed a .787 OPS to left-handed hitters compared to just .661 against righties, making him much more vulnerable to left-handed power. Hitting out of the cleanup spot with the roof closed at Globe Life Field, +600 is an excellent price for a dialed-in hitter holding a clear platoon advantage.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+600
MLB HR · Orioles @ Rangers

Tyler O'Neill

Nathan Eovaldi has been struggling to keep the ball in the yard lately, serving up seven home runs over his last five starts. While he handles right-handed hitters well on a general contact basis, he has still surrendered 12 homers to them in just 216 at-bats this year. Tyler O'Neill enters tonight seeing the ball exceptionally well, having homered twice in his last three games while posting a 1.806 OPS over the last seven days. Given Eovaldi's recent home run woes, O'Neill is in a prime position to capitalize at +449.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+449
MLB HR · Blue Jays @ Phillies

Bryce Harper

José Soriano makes his Blue Jays debut tonight, and while he's been extremely tough on righties this season, left-handed bats have given him trouble. Soriano has surrendered 10 home runs to lefties across 244 at-bats, compared to just two homers allowed to righties over 202 at-bats. That split points me straight to Bryce Harper.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+500
MLB HR · Reds @ Nationals

Tyler Stephenson

Tyler Stephenson is completely dialed in at the plate right now. Over his last couple of weeks, he’s boasting a microscopic 16% whiff rate and 16% chase rate, meaning he’s refusing to expand the zone and simply isn't getting fooled. When he does swing, he’s doing damage — averaging a 93.2 mph exit velocity with three barrels on just 11 balls in play recently, which has already produced two homers over his last seven games. Cade Cavalli’s splits historically lean toward suppressing right-handed power, but +600 is way too much value to pass up for a guy making this kind of premium contact.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+390
MLB HR · Angels @ Marlins

Griffin Conine

George Klassen is making a spot start for an Angels rotation that was gutted at the trade deadline, and his brief MLB track record this season is alarming. He's walked 10 batters in just 4.2 innings, and when hitters actually get a pitch to swing at, they're teeing off to the tune of a 50 percent hard-hit rate and a 25 percent barrel rate.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+700
MLB HR · Guardians @ White Sox

Rhys Hoskins

Noah Schultz has had a rough go of it in his rookie campaign, particularly against right-handed bats. He has surrendered eight homers to righties in just 196 at-bats and has struggled to pitch deep into games, failing to finish the fourth inning in two of his last three starts.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+390
MLB HR · Cubs @ Royals

Alec Burleson

Ryan Feltner cannot keep the ball in the yard. Over his last six starts, the Rockies right-hander has surrendered 10 home runs across just 29.2 innings.

Royce Lewis

Royce Lewis is on an absolute tear, bringing an 11-game hitting streak into tonight's series opener. Over his last seven games, he’s hitting .435 with three homers, five barrels, and a 93.8 mph average exit velocity. While Shane Drohan has put together a solid rookie campaign since moving to the Brewers' rotation, he is vulnerable to right-handed power — all seven of the home runs he’s surrendered this year have come off the bats of righties. Lewis is seeing the ball as well as anyone in the league right now, and I'll gladly take +380 on him to launch another one tonight.

Austin Wells

Wells is flying a bit under the radar, but his underlying contact quality is screaming for a home run prop. Over his last couple of weeks, he's averaging a blistering 96.3 mph exit velocity when he puts the ball in play, generating two barrels on just eight recent balls in play. Tyler Mahle relies heavily on a 92-mph four-seam fastball, which is exactly the kind of pitch a left-handed pull hitter can ambush at Yankee Stadium. At +500, the odds more than justify the raw power metrics Wells is flashing right now.

Jackson Chourio

Jackson Chourio is obliterating the baseball right now. He's got a staggering 97.1 mph average exit velocity over the last couple of weeks, with five barrels on just 18 balls in play.

Bobby Witt Jr.

Bobby Witt Jr. hasn't missed a beat since returning from the injured list earlier this week. He's hitting .500 since his activation with a pile of doubles, and his contact quality is through the roof.

Ronel Blanco

The Astros have made it explicitly clear that Ronel Blanco is on a strict workload limit, capping him around 85 pitches as he builds back from elbow surgery. He hasn't completed six innings in any of his three starts since returning, and his efficiency has been poor, issuing eight walks and yielding 12 earned runs over 14.2 innings. Against a patient Padres lineup that can grind out at-bats and drive up pitch counts, five full innings feels like an absolute ceiling here. I'm more than happy to bet on the short leash and the pitch limit keeping him in the dugout before the sixth.

Jackson Merrill

Merrill has been the engine of this Padres offense lately, racking up 19 hits and 11 RBIs over his last 15 games. He's well-positioned tonight hitting in the middle of the order against Ronel Blanco, who has struggled immensely against left-handed batters since his return, allowing a .914 OPS and three homers to lefties in just 36 at-bats. With Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado hitting ahead of him to create traffic, this price on Merrill staying heavily involved is a very solid look.

Shohei Ohtani

Merrill Kelly has surrendered a staggering .885 OPS and 15 home runs to left-handed hitters this season. Now he has to face Shohei Ohtani, who is batting .417 over his last seven days and just launched two homers on Wednesday in Chicago. Kelly is giving up barrels at an alarming 13.2 percent clip, and Ohtani is perfectly positioned to punish that kind of contact profile under the roof in Phoenix.

Merrill Kelly

The Dodgers arrive in the desert desperate to snap a six-game losing streak, and Kelly is exactly the pitcher they want to see. He owns a 6.33 ERA at Chase Field, and his overall expected ERA sits north of seven. With the sheer volume of hard contact Kelly allows, the loaded top half of this Los Angeles order is going to push across at least three runs before his night is over.
