Philadelphia’s heavily used bullpen and a possible weather delay bring some risk, but I still see the Phillies having the clearer path to winning by at least two runs. I’m backing them to do exactly that at close to an even return.

As I mentioned in my game cap, Zack Wheeler is the true separator in this matchup. His 2.59 xERA fully supports the surface numbers, and tonight he faces a Toronto lineup missing its biggest threat in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. With an ice-cold Nathan Lukes leading off and a rookie making his debut at the bottom of the order, this is a prime spot for Wheeler to cruise. Add in the threat of a potential weather delay that could cut his night short, and grabbing the under on his earned runs at plus money is a terrific angle.

Jose Soriano brings elite velocity to the mound, but command has been a persistent issue this season, as he has issued 57 free passes across 123 innings. Bryce Harper's eye is as sharp as ever right now, drawing five walks over his last three games alone. Soriano will likely try to nibble around the edges against Philadelphia's most dangerous hitter rather than challenging him over the plate, making this plus-money price on a single Harper walk a great value.

José Soriano makes his Blue Jays debut tonight, and while he's been extremely tough on righties this season, left-handed bats have given him trouble. Soriano has surrendered 10 home runs to lefties across 244 at-bats, compared to just two homers allowed to righties over 202 at-bats. That split points me straight to Bryce Harper.
Harper is seeing the ball well, launching two homers over his last seven days and bringing a 1.119 OPS in that stretch, which included a 433-foot blast earlier this week. Citizens Bank Park is always a cozy venue for power, and given Soriano's vulnerability on the left side, backing Harper to go deep at +500 offers exactly the kind of setup I'm looking for.
