Dodgers @ Phillies

Two of the National League's heavyweights collide tonight at Citizens Bank Park as Zack Wheeler leads the Phillies against Justin Wrobleski and the Los Angeles Dodgers. With the wind blowing out and a storm system looming, this marquee matchup has all the makings of a high-stakes, fast-paced battle in Philadelphia. My money tonight is riding on the Phillies moneyline at -120. When you look at the starting pitching matchup, Zack Wheeler gives Philadelphia an elite baseline with his 10-1 record, 2.13 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 108 strikeouts. His 2.65 xERA shows his dominance is entirely real, backed by a splitter and sweeper that generate whiff rates over 41%. On the other side, Wrobleski’s 2.69 ERA is built on sand; his 4.14 xERA points to major impending regression. He is an extreme fly-ball pitcher with a 0.71 GO/AO ratio and a high 42.9% hard-hit rate allowed. In a stadium where the wind is projected to blow out to left field at 11 mph with high humidity, Wrobleski’s tendency to put the ball in the air is a massive liability against Philadelphia’s power hitters. The matchup gets even worse for the rookie when you look at the pitch selection. Wrobleski throws his four-seam fastball over 50% of the time. That is a death sentence against Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber, who boast xwOBAs of .474 and .418 respectively against four-seamers. To make matters worse, the Dodgers are dealing with a critical catching crisis. With Will Smith and Dalton Rushing both out with neck injuries, Los Angeles is starting Eliezer Alfonzo, who has played zero MLB games this season and possesses a 0% caught-stealing rate. Contrast that with J.T. Realmuto behind the plate for the Phillies, who has a 36% caught-stealing rate, and Philadelphia has a significant advantage in controlling the run game and managing their pitcher. Finally, the bullpen states tilt heavily in Philadelphia's favor. Phillies closer Jhoan Duran (1.32 ERA, 24 saves) is completely fresh after throwing only a single pitch on Monday. The Dodgers' relief unit has scuffled with a 4.47 xFIP over the last month and was heavily taxed in yesterday's 10-7 game, leaving their middle innings vulnerable. The market is giving us a very reasonable price of -120 on Philadelphia because of the Dodgers' name value, but tonight's specific context—from the starting arms to the catching mismatch and the weather elements—heavily favors the home team. Back the Phillies to take care of business at Citizens Bank Park.

Twins @ Guardians

Under the evening lights of Progressive Field, a crucial American League Central battle takes shape as the Cleveland Guardians look to tighten their grip on the division against a fading Minnesota Twins squad. With the Guardians sitting just a single game out of first place at 53-48 and the Twins trailing by five games at 49-52, tonight's matchup represents a critical leverage point for both teams. The starting pitching matchup reveals a massive discrepancy in reliability and longevity. Left-hander Parker Messick takes the mound for Cleveland, carrying an 8-5 record, a 2.73 ERA, and a stellar 1.07 WHIP across 112.0 innings. Messick has been incredibly reliable, completing at least six innings in four of his last five starts while maintaining a superb 3.26 xERA and suppressing hard contact with a 5.4% Barrel rate. Meanwhile, the Twins counter with rookie Kendry Rojas, who has posted a 2.79 ERA but is highly volatile, sporting a bloated 1.60 WHIP and a 3.80 xERA through just 19.1 innings. Rojas has struggled mightily with his command, walking 16 batters, and is expected to be on an extremely short leash. With five Minnesota starting pitchers currently on the injured list, the Twins are forced to rely on a high-variance bullpen game, which spells trouble for their heavily taxed relief unit. The late-inning landscape heavily favors the home team. Cleveland’s bullpen is fully rested and features elite arms like Cade Smith (28 saves), Holderman (1.93 ERA), and Gaddis (2.56 ERA). Conversely, Minnesota's bullpen has been overworked and holds a lackluster 5.04 season ERA; key relievers Kody Funderburk and Woo-Suk Go have thrown on consecutive days, and Tommy Nance is fresh off a 36-pitch outing in yesterday's lopsided opener. Offensively, the Guardians have been absolutely scorching over their last three games, posting a 0.431 xwOBA, 12.2% Barrel rate, and 45.9% Hard-Hit rate, led by Chase DeLauter's hot bat. Compare that to a cold Twins offense that has put up a meager 0.302 xwOBA, 4.9% Barrel rate, and 29.6% Hard-Hit rate over their last three games. Combined with Cleveland’s superior defense (+21 DRS, 11th in MLB) against Minnesota's bottom-tier fielding (-32 DRS, 29th in MLB), the Guardians are set up beautifully to secure a victory here.

Rays @ Blue Jays

The roof is closed at the Rogers Centre tonight as the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays look to keep their momentum rolling against the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays. With the line sitting essentially at a pick'em, the value lies squarely with the road team in a matchup that heavily favors both their arms and their bats. Drew Rasmussen takes the hill for Tampa Bay sporting an outstanding 3.26 ERA and a minuscule 0.95 WHIP that underlines his elite control. While he has had a rough patch in his last two starts, his season-long underlying numbers remain elite, and he has a distinct matchup advantage tonight. Toronto's lineup is heavily right-handed, which plays directly into Rasmussen's biggest strength—he has utterly dominated right-handed hitters this season, holding them to a .159 batting average and a .472 OPS. By contrast, Toronto's Kevin Gausman has been highly inconsistent with a 4.33 ERA and faces an absolute nightmare matchup in Yandy Diaz, who has absolutely shredded him throughout his career with a .583 average and a 1.476 OPS over 12 at-bats. Furthermore, Gausman’s heavy reliance on his four-seam fastball (thrown 51.4% of the time) will play right into the wheelhouse of Junior Caminero. Caminero enters this contest on a blistering six-game home run streak and boasts an elite .765 slugging percentage against four-seamers this season. Behind their pitching staff, the Rays possess one of the elite defensive units in the majors, ranking second overall with 56 Defensive Runs Saved to suppress any potential Blue Jays rallies. Coming off a dominant 7-1 win in yesterday's opener that shook off their recent slump, Tampa Bay is the vastly superior team on paper and matches up perfectly to sweep the opening pair of this series. Lay the short price on the division leaders.

Orioles @ Red Sox

Heavy rain clouds are gathering over the iconic Green Monster at Fenway Park tonight as the surging Boston Red Sox look to continue their historic winning streak against their American League East rivals, the Baltimore Orioles. But while the weather is threatening a storm, the real drama unfolded this afternoon with a massive shake-up on the pitcher's mound. The betting market has inflated Boston's price due to their 14-game winning streak, but the Red Sox are facing a severe self-inflicted disadvantage tonight. Boston was forced to make a late rotation scratch this afternoon, pulling scheduled starter Ranger Suárez due to groin tightness and starting young left-hander Eduardo Rivera instead. Rivera throws his four-seamer 60% of the time and rarely goes deep into games, typically lasting only 3 to 4 innings. This late change forces Boston to rely heavily on its middle-relief corps early, a unit already compromised by reliever Zack Kelly being placed on the 60-day IL today. Contrast this with the Orioles, who send a proven, established starter in Kyle Bradish to the mound, giving Baltimore the decisive starting pitching edge. The Orioles are in an excellent bounce-back spot to capitalize on Rivera's fastball-heavy approach. While Baltimore is missing star catcher Adley Rutschman, who was placed on the 10-day IL yesterday with left wrist inflammation, their lineup matches up beautifully against a young left-hander who leans on high-velocity fastballs. Orioles first baseman Pete Alonso may struggle overall against lefties with a .223 AVG, but he is elite against fastballs with a .423 xwOBA. With Rivera throwing his heater 60% of the time, the heart of the Orioles' lineup has the power to jump on him early. Baltimore averages 4.6 runs per game on the season compared to Boston's 4.2, and their bats are primed to exploit a rookie thrown into an unexpected emergency start. Finally, the elements are going to dictate this game. There is a 60–70% chance of heavy rain and severe thunderstorms at the 7:10 p.m. ET first pitch, meaning this game could easily be shortened or delayed. In a high-chaos environment where starting pitchers are fighting slick baseballs and disrupted rhythms, backing the road underdog with the superior, more durable starting pitcher at near-even money is the sharp play. Boston has historically struggled at Fenway this year, carrying a sub-.500 home record of 22-27. With the streak artificially driving up the Red Sox price, we are grabbing the value on Baltimore to handle business in a shortened, high-variance battle.

Padres @ Braves

The Braves and Padres open up their series at Truist Park on a hot summer evening where the wind is blowing in but the bats are ready to do some damage. Atlanta comes into this game as a solid home favorite for good reason, holding a strong 58-41 overall record and a dominant 30-19 mark at home, while San Diego sits at 49-51 overall and just 22-27 on the road. The Braves' offense has been far more productive, averaging 5.0 runs per game with a .250 batting average and .734 OPS, compared to the Padres' 4.1 runs per game on a .228 average and .682 OPS. San Diego's bats have also gone cold, scoring two or fewer runs in three of their last four games, averaging just 2.1 runs in those games if we exclude their 19-run outlier. To make matters worse, the Padres placed DH Miguel Andujar on the injured list today with a wrist fracture, forcing Luis Rengifo (.549 season OPS) into the lineup, while Atlanta gets a boost with the return of veteran outfielder Mike Yastrzemski (.686 season OPS). This starting pitching matchup heavily favors the Braves. Walker Buehler is starting for San Diego and is enduring a nightmare season, carrying a 5-5 record, a 5.36 ERA, and a 1.44 WHIP, which includes a hideous 9.14 ERA over his last five starts (22 earned runs in 21.2 innings) and a 6.50 road ERA. His 94 mph four-seam fastball is a major liability, allowing a .423 expected wOBA and .393 batting average, setting up beautifully for Atlanta's top lefties like Matt Olson (.923 OPS against righties, .554 slugging against four-seamers) and Michael Harris II (.857 OPS against righties, .515 slugging against four-seamers). While Atlanta's Reynaldo López (4-2, 3.50 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) has also regressed recently with a 5.21 ERA over his last five starts and has failed to complete six innings in any of those outings, his overall season baseline is far safer than Buehler's. López is particularly stingy against right-handers, holding them to a .659 OPS, which will help neutralize Padres stars Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado. The warm 87°F temperature at Truist Park will carry the baseball, but a solid 10-14 mph wind blowing in from center field acts as a critical stabilizer. This breeze directly plays into López's hands by neutralizing his fly-ball-heavy profile (0.83 GO/AO ratio). And while the Padres hold a late-inning advantage with a fresh closer in Mason Miller (0.89 ERA, 25 saves, 0.84 WHIP, 16.6 K/9) compared to Atlanta's Raisel Iglesias (2.36 ERA, 19 saves, 1.05 WHIP, 10.0 K/9), San Diego is highly unlikely to have a lead to protect. Both squads are missing their premier high-leverage setup options—Robert Suarez for Atlanta, and Jason Adam and Jeremiah Estrada for San Diego—but the Braves' superior lineup and home-field strength will be too much for Buehler to survive. Lay the price on the Braves moneyline.

Mets @ Brewers

We have a National League matchup tonight in Milwaukee as the division-leading Brewers host the last-place Mets in a clash of teams heading in completely opposite directions. When you look at the price on the board, laying -134 on a team that is 33-18 at home against a road-weary 21-31 opponent feels like a gift from the books. Milwaukee is riding a four-game winning streak and has all the momentum after taking the series opener 8-3 yesterday, while New York continues to search for answers amidst a 4-6 stretch over their last 10 games. The starting pitching matchup reveals a massive gap between surface numbers and underlying reality. Mets starter Zac Thornton looks imposing with a 2.60 ERA and 0.92 WHIP, but his 3.97 xERA and .308 xwOBA suggest heavy regression is coming. He now has to pitch away from his friendly home park—where he holds a 0.69 ERA—and step into American Family Field with an ugly 8.31 road ERA. Plus, Thornton’s fly-ball profile (0.89 GO/AO) is a dangerous combination in this park against a Milwaukee offense that averages 5.1 runs per game on a .253 AVG and .736 OPS. They feature potent left-handed-pitching neutralizers like Andrew Vaughn, who hits .393 against lefties, and Jackson Chourio, who sports a .897 OPS against southpaws. On the other side, Brandon Sproat’s 5.16 ERA and 1.37 WHIP might scare off the casual bettor, but his 4.81 xERA shows his process is better than his results. He is supported by a fundamentally clean Brewers defense that has committed only 41 errors and maintains a .988 fielding percentage, which is a night-and-day difference compared to a sloppy Mets defense that has racked up 69 errors and a .981 fielding percentage. Even though Sproat faces a Mets offense that averages just 4.1 runs per game on a .233 AVG and .684 OPS, his defense will make the plays behind him to limit damage. At -134, we are backing the better, hotter team in their dominant home environment against a pitcher primed for a major reality check.

Giants @ Royals

Under the hot July skies at Kauffman Stadium, the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals clash in a battle where the underlying metrics paint a very different picture than the surface-level odds suggest. At first glance, tonight's starting pitching matchup looks like a wash between two struggling right-handers, but a look under the hood reveals a distinct edge for San Francisco. Giants starter Tyler Mahle carries a deceptive 5.31 ERA, but his xERA of 4.22 indicates he has been the victim of poor luck and is prime for positive regression. On the other side, Royals starter Luinder Avila has been a disaster in his home ballpark, pitching to a horrific 9.68 ERA over 17.2 home innings this season. With Avila's vulnerability to right-handed hitters, who have tagged him for a .946 OPS, the Giants' lineup has a golden opportunity to break out of their offensive slump. The defining factor of this matchup, however, is a fresh, high-impact injury that the betting market has not fully adjusted to. The Royals will be playing their first full game without franchise shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., who is sidelined with back tightness. Witt Jr. is the absolute engine of this Kansas City team, providing a stellar 4.9 WAR and an .800 OPS. Removing his elite bat and defensive presence from the left side of the infield—especially with Maikel Garcia also sidelined—severely downgrades both the Royals' offensive ceiling and their run prevention. While the Giants' injuries to Matt Chapman and Harrison Bader are long-established and fully priced into the line, the loss of Witt Jr. is a sudden, destabilizing blow that leaves Kansas City incredibly vulnerable. The late-inning dynamics further tilt the scales in favor of the Giants. While San Francisco suffered a tough walk-off loss yesterday, their bullpen is in a much better position to close out tonight's game. High-leverage left-hander Erik Miller (3.18 ERA, 10 holds) is completely fresh after not appearing on Monday, giving the Giants an elite weapon to neutralize the Royals' left-handed bats late. Conversely, the Kansas City bullpen is running on fumes. Setup man Daniel Lynch IV has thrown 41 pitches over two of the last three days, and closer Alex Lange is coming off a stressful, 19-pitch blown save yesterday. The combination of Mahle's impending positive regression, the critical absence of Witt Jr., and a highly rested Giants high-leverage bridge makes San Francisco the sharp play at this near-even price.

White Sox @ Rangers

Under the climate-controlled roof of Globe Life Field, the Texas Rangers host the Chicago White Sox on a sweltering evening in Arlington, as two highly touted but volatile young starters clash in a high-stakes American League battle. This matchup is set up beautifully for the home side, specifically due to how the Rangers have engineered their lineup to target Noah Schultz. Schultz carries a 5.60 ERA and an even more concerning 6.05 xERA, largely driven by a massive platoon split that right-handed hitters have exploited all season to the tune of a .241 average, an .810 OPS, and eight home runs. The Rangers are starting seven righties tonight, including Wyatt Langford hitting leadoff and Justin Foscue batting second. Foscue boasts a massive 1.090 OPS against left-handed pitchers, and Langford brings a .370 xwOBA against sinkers to target Schultz's primary sinker, which has surrendered a brutal .510 xwOBA this season. With Josh Jung also in the lineup sporting his elite 1.027 home OPS, the top of the Texas order is primed to hit Schultz hard and early. On the defensive and lineup stability front, the scale tilts heavily toward Texas following sudden developments in the Chicago clubhouse. The White Sox suffered a devastating late blow today with home-run leader Colson Montgomery (24 HR) scratched due to a right shin contusion, forcing Luisangel Acuña (1 HR) into the starting shortstop role. Additionally, with rookie catcher Kyle Teel landed on the 10-day injured list today, Chicago is starting Drew Romo, who carries a .134 average and has yielded five passed balls in limited action. This battery mismatch becomes critical when Schultz’s fly-ball tendency (0.80 GO/AO) meets Romo’s defensive volatility, especially compared to the Rangers' steady catcher Elias Diaz (33% caught-stealing rate, only one passed ball) and elite center-field defender Cam Cauley. While Chicago's offense relies on power from Munetaka Murakami, he faces a major obstacle in Kumar Rocker’s signature slider, which features a 38% usage rate and a stellar 45.8% whiff rate. Murakami (.217 xwOBA) and Tristan Peters (.264 xwOBA) both struggle significantly against sliders, giving Rocker the tools to suppress Chicago's primary threats. Even with a heavily worked Texas bullpen, the combination of a tailormade righty-heavy lineup against Schultz and the White Sox's sudden late-lineup deflations makes the Rangers on the moneyline at a cheap -120 price the sharpest bet on the board tonight.

Tigers @ Cubs

A classic July matchup unfolds tonight at iconic Wrigley Field as the Detroit Tigers look to continue their mid-summer surge against the Chicago Cubs. On the mound, we get a dramatic contrast in starting pitching quality that immediately points toward the value side. The Tigers send out Framber Valdez, who holds a 4.10 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP, having allowed one or fewer earned runs in three of his last five starts. Valdez has been highly effective with his curveball, which features an elite 0.222 xwOBA and a 49.1% chase rate. On the other side, the Cubs counter with David Peterson, who has struggled to find consistency this season, posting a 6.45 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP, including a bloated 8.84 ERA in his home starts. The technical edge for Detroit tonight lies in how their lineup is constructed to exploit Peterson's severe platoon vulnerabilities. Peterson has surrendered a .305 batting average and an .821 OPS to right-handed hitters this season, and his sinker has allowed a high .421 xwOBA. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch has constructed a lineup featuring seven right-handed batters tonight to attack this weakness. This includes second baseman Gleyber Torres, who returned from the injured list yesterday and boasts a stellar .479 xwOBA against sinkers and four-seamers, and designated hitter Dillon Dingler, who hit two home runs yesterday and posts a .400+ xwOBA against Peterson's primary offerings. While Wrigley Field features strong winds of approximately 20.8 mph blowing directly in from left-center field—favoring both starters' matching 1.32 GO/AO ground-ball ratios—the Tigers hold the offensive momentum. Detroit has won 12 of their last 16 games overall and is hitting with authority, registering an 8.0% barrel rate over the last three games compared to the Cubs' 4.1%. Though both teams face bullpen fatigue after yesterday's 10-inning game, getting the superior starting pitcher and a highly tailored platoon matchup at a plus-money price is an edge we must take. We are backing the Tigers to get the job done on the road.

Marlins @ Astros

Under the closed roof of Daikin Park, the Houston Astros look to keep their momentum rolling against a sliding Miami Marlins squad. At first glance, this pitching matchup looks like an advantage for Miami, with Tyler Phillips carrying a 3.48 ERA against Tatsuya Imai's ugly 6.06. But peel back the skin on these numbers and the picture flips. Phillips is one of the biggest regression candidates on the slate. His expected ERA (xERA) of 4.87 sits nearly a run and a half higher than his actual ERA, and his road ERA of 6.53 reveals how much he struggles away from home. Tonight, he walks into a closed-roof hitter's paradise against an Astros lineup built to punish his primary weapon. Phillips relies heavily on a 95.8 mph sinker, but Houston's core hitters thrive against sinkers. Yordan Alvarez possesses a ridiculous .541 xwOBA against sinkers to go with his 1.163 OPS against righties and 1.208 Home OPS at night, while Isaac Paredes has batted .373 against the sinker. With Christian Walker returning to bat sixth, Phillips has very few soft spots to navigate. Meanwhile, Tatsuya Imai's 6.06 ERA is an eyesore, but his 5.11 xERA shows he has been the victim of some harsh variance, and his 10.9 K/9 provides the swing-and-miss capability to bail him out of trouble. While Imai has a rough 7.92 home ERA, he is backed by a defense that is significantly cleaner than Miami’s. The Astros have committed only 43 errors this season compared to the Marlins’ 64. For a groundball-leaning pitcher like Phillips (1.21 GO/AO), relying on a shaky Marlins defense that has leaked 21 more errors than Houston is a recipe for disaster in a hitter-friendly environment. The late-inning math also heavily favors the home side. The Marlins' bullpen has been thoroughly depleted by injuries, missing five relievers on the injured list, and is forced to lean on Pete Fairbanks and his struggling 7.42 ERA. Houston, on the other hand, can hand a lead over to Josh Hader, who boasts a stellar 1.56 ERA and 10 saves. Miami has spiraled into a season-worst seven-game losing streak, including a 21-29 mark on the road. At a very reasonable price of -126, we are backing the Astros to exploit Phillips' regression on the road and secure the victory.

Nationals @ Rockies

Welcome to Coors Field, where the thin air is hot, the wind is howling out to center, and the scoreboard operator is already stretching out their fingers for a busy night. With the temperature hovering around 92 degrees and gusts blowing out at 14 miles per hour, we are stepping into an absolute launchpad tonight. The clear edge in this high-altitude environment lies with the visiting lineup. Rockies starter Michael Lorenzen has struggled mightily this season, putting up a 6.22 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP over 20 starts. More importantly, Lorenzen has a severe platoon vulnerability against left-handed hitters, giving up a staggering .338 average and .993 OPS, including 10 of his 14 home runs on the year. The Nationals' lineup is perfectly constructed to exploit this weakness, featuring seven left-handed or switch-hitters. Top bats James Wood, who carries a 1.010 OPS against right-handed pitching, and CJ Abrams, with a .933 OPS against righties, are primed to do serious damage. The Nationals' offense enters tonight on an absolute Statcast tear, posting a .440 xwOBA and an 11.7% Barrel rate over their last three games. Once Lorenzen is knocked out, they face a Colorado bullpen that ranks as the worst in the majors with a 5.47 ERA. While the Nationals had to pivot to a bullpen game with lefty Carson Palmquist opening for bulk reliever Miles Mikolas due to Josiah Gray's elbow injury, their offense has more than enough firepower to cover any pitching leakage. Washington is one of the most elite road teams in baseball, boasting a stellar 31-19 away record, and they already flexed their muscles with a 7-4 victory in yesterday's opener. At near-even money, we are backing the vastly superior road team and their red-hot, lefty-heavy lineup to run wild in the thin Rocky Mountain air.

Cardinals @ Angels

Welcome to a warm July evening at Angel Stadium, where a Heat Advisory and a stiff breeze blowing out to center field set the stage for a critical battle between the Cardinals and the Angels. My money is riding on the Angels tonight at a very reasonable price of -116. The weather conditions are a massive handicap for St. Louis starter Matthew Liberatore, whose fly-ball heavy profile (0.63 GO/AO) is highly vulnerable in this hot, 82°F air with an 8 mph wind blowing out to center. Liberatore enters with a 5.00 ERA and a 5.28 xERA, and his propensity for giving up hard contact—shown by a 9.5% barrel rate and a 42.6% hard-hit rate allowed—is a recipe for disaster in this environment. Furthermore, the Angels' lineup is uniquely suited to exploit him. Liberatore allows a massive .902 OPS to left-handed hitters, which puts Nolan Schanuel (who is 2-for-4 career with a 1.250 OPS against him) in a premier position, while Mike Trout (1-for-3, 1.000 OPS) and Zach Neto (1-for-1, 2.000 OPS) also have past success in this matchup. On the other side, Walbert Ureña takes the bump with a stellar 2.88 ERA and 3.31 xERA. While Ureña has some role uncertainty making his first start of 2026, he has been elite at preventing runs and suppressing hard contact this year, allowing just a 5.4% barrel rate and a 32.3% hard-hit rate. He is a heavy ground-ball pitcher (1.35 GO/AO), which keeps the ball in the yard even on hot, windy nights like tonight. St. Louis has a highly disciplined left-handed core, and Ureña’s 5.1 BB/9 is a minor concern, but his overall run-suppression ability is far superior to Liberatore's. Even if the Cardinals' hitters manage to work some walks, they will find it difficult to manufacture big innings against Ureña's high-velocity sinker and four-seamer, which average 97.4 mph. The deciding factor tonight is the state of the respective bullpens. Yesterday, the Cardinals had a devastating late-inning collapse in a 3-2 walk-off loss, completely draining their high-leverage arms. Closer Riley O'Brien threw 21 pitches, George Soriano threw 14, and Ryne Stanek threw 13. With O'Brien on a short leash or potentially unavailable, and setup man JoJo Romero already on the injured list, St. Louis has almost no reliable late-inning depth. Meanwhile, the Angels' top high-leverage arms like Ryan Zeferjahn (3.91 ERA) and Sam Bachman (3.95 ERA) did not throw yesterday and are fully rested. At a cheap price of -116, we are backing the side with the superior starting pitcher, the rested high-leverage bullpen, and the favorable environmental matchup to secure a home victory.

Athletics @ Diamondbacks

The desert heat is locked outside the closed roof of Chase Field tonight as the Arizona Diamondbacks look to even the series against the visiting Oakland Athletics in a matchup defined by pitching volatility and massive roster shifts. While Arizona sends left-hander Kohl Drake to the hill for his big-league debut, the spotlight shines brightly on Oakland's Jack Perkins. Perkins has flashy swing-and-miss stuff, but his 6.87 ERA is weighed down by a catastrophic night split, where he surrenders a 7.89 ERA compared to a much more manageable 3.77 ERA in day games. Facing a D-backs offense that feasts on high-velocity fastballs, Perkins is set up for a difficult evening under the dome. This matchup turns entirely on the fresh, catastrophic roster developments out of the Oakland clubhouse today. The Athletics placed their hottest rookie infielder, Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, on the injured list today following emergency groin surgery, stripping away a bat that was hitting .417. With Brent Rooker already out, Oakland's lineup is completely thin and will struggle to generate traffic against Drake, despite his own high ERA in Reno. Conversely, Arizona gets a massive boost with franchise cornerstone Corbin Carroll returning to the starting lineup batting third. Arizona's core sluggers match up beautifully against Perkins; Ketel Marte boasts a .456 xwOBA against sinkers, and Gabriel Moreno holds a .485 xwOBA against four-seam fastballs. With neither starting pitcher expected to work deep into this game, the outcome will be decided by the bullpens, and the disparity here is overwhelming. Oakland’s bullpen carries a league-worst 5.46 ERA and is completely compromised after placing high-leverage arm Mark Leiter Jr. on the injured list today, leaving heavily used relievers like Hogan Harris fatigued. Arizona, on the other hand, possesses a much sturdier 3.98 bullpen ERA with pristine back-end availability in Paul Sewald and Brandyn Garcia, who have not thrown in the last two days. Supported by a premier defensive unit anchored by Gabriel Moreno's elite framing, the Diamondbacks are primed to run away with this one in the middle and late innings. Reds @ Mariners

We’ve got a hot summer evening in Seattle as the Reds and Mariners prepare to battle in a high-stakes clash at T-Mobile Park. Yesterday’s 8-0 blowout win by the Mariners has the public leaning heavily on the home team, but tonight features a completely different starting pitching matchup and critical, fresh lineup shifts. The betting market is offering us Cincinnati at even money, and that is a price we have to take. The starting pitching matchup represents a massive chasm in current efficiency. Cincinnati sends their ace Chase Burns to the hill, who is sporting a stellar 11-1 record, a 2.54 ERA, and a 1.11 WHIP. My read is that Burns is simply too dominant for a heavily depleted Seattle lineup to handle. The Mariners will be without both of their key offensive engines today, as J.P. Crawford is out with a sore left wrist and Julio Rodriguez is sidelined with a leg issue. Replacing them are players like Colt Emerson, who is batting just .156 over his last ten games. Burns’ elite 90.5 mph slider—which boasts a 52.1% whiff rate—will be a completely unfamiliar look for this lineup. While Seattle's aggressive baserunning (73 stolen bases, 10th in MLB) will look to exploit Burns' vulnerability to the run game, where he has surrendered a league-high 16 steals, they first have to find a way to get on base against a pitcher holding righties to a .195 average and lefties to a .214 mark. On the other side of the ball, Luis Castillo has struggled to a 3-8 record and a 4.93 ERA, allowing a high 43.6% hard-hit rate. Castillo has been highly vulnerable against left-handed hitting, allowing a .271 average and an .838 OPS. This plays directly into the hands of Cincinnati’s left-handed core. Castillo’s sinker has yielded a weak .423 xwOBA this season, which is a prime target for Elly De La Cruz and JJ Bleday, who both sport a strong .373 xwOBA against sinkers. Nathaniel Lowe also matches up beautifully here, carrying a .364 batting average and a 1.247 OPS in 11 at-bats against Castillo, while Bleday holds a .900 OPS in 12 at-bats. Even with Spencer Steer sidelined, the Reds' left-handed bats have the statistical profile to break through against Castillo's primary weaknesses under the unusually warm 90-degree conditions.

Trea Turner

Trea Turner is on a massive heater, batting .342 with high-end power (4 HR) over his last 10 games. He faces a rookie lefty in Wrobleski whose underlying metrics (4.14 xERA) suggest he is due for a blow-up. Wrobleski allows a high rate of hard contact and leans toward fly balls, which is a dangerous combination in Philadelphia with an 11 mph wind blowing out to left. Turner’s leadoff volume and current slugging surge make him a prime candidate for extra bases tonight.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+105
  • · .342 AVG and 4 HR over last 10 games
  • · Wrobleski 4.14 xERA and 42.9% hard-hit rate allowed
  • · 11 mph wind blowing out to LF (pull side for Turner)
MLB · Twins @ Guardians

Chase DeLauter

Chase DeLauter is currently the hottest bat in the Guardians' lineup, and he enters this game coming off a monster 4-for-5 performance yesterday. Unlike many left-handed hitters, DeLauter has shown a distinct proficiency for hitting same-side pitching, carrying a .364 average and .923 OPS against left-handers this season.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+120
  • · Chase DeLauter .364 AVG vs LHP this season
  • · Kendry Rojas 1.60 season WHIP
  • · Needs >45% to break even (+120)
MLB · Rays @ Blue Jays

Junior Caminero

Junior Caminero is the hottest hitter in baseball right now, entering tonight's contest on a historic six-game home run streak. In this market, a solo home run alone generates 3 units (1 Hit, 1 Run, 1 RBI), meaning he has cleared this 1.5 threshold in every game during this stretch.

OVER 1.5 H+R+RBI-125
  • · Caminero: 6-game home run streak (current)
  • · Gausman: 40.2% hard-hit rate allowed
  • · Matchup break-even: 55.6% (-125)
MLB · Orioles @ Red Sox

Tyler O'Neill

Tyler O'Neill is the hottest hitter in the Orioles' lineup, entering this matchup with hits in 7 of his last 10 games and an impressive .333 average during that stretch. He draws a favorable matchup against Eduardo Rivera, a left-handed emergency starter for the Red Sox who was a late addition to the rotation today.

OVER 0.5 Hits-166
  • · Tyler O'Neill: 8-for-24 (.333) with 4 HR over last 10 games
  • · Recorded a hit in 7 of last 10 games
  • · Eduardo Rivera: 4.50 ERA and short leash (max 3.2 IP in July)
MLB · Padres @ Braves

Michael Harris II

Michael Harris II is in a prime position to exploit Walker Buehler's current lack of command and failure to miss bats. Harris is a high-contact hitter (.301 AVG) who has been exceptionally consistent recently, recording multi-hit performances in three of his last four games.

OVER 1.5 Hits+185
  • · Michael Harris II season average: .301 AVG
  • · Recent form: 2+ hits in 3 of his last 4 starts
  • · Walker Buehler last 5 starts: 9.14 ERA / 21 ER in 21.2 IP
MLB · Padres @ Braves

Matt Olson

Matt Olson remains the focal point of the Braves' run production, leading the club in RBIs (59) and home runs (26). Tonight, he gets a platoon advantage against Walker Buehler, who has been historically vulnerable to left-handed power when his secondary stuff isn't sharp.

OVER 0.5 RBI+140
  • · Matt Olson vs RHP: .923 OPS / 17 HR
  • · Walker Buehler vs LHB: .280 AVG allowed / .759 OPS allowed
  • · Olson leads team with 59 RBIs in 99 games
MLB · Mets @ Brewers

Andrew Vaughn

The Gary Special: This pick leverages Vaughn's elite slugging profile against left-handed pitching. His 1.149 OPS against southpaws indicates that his success isn't limited to singles; he possesses significant extra-base power in this specific matchup.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+133
  • · 1.149 OPS vs LHP
  • · 38.3% Hard-Hit rate allowed by Thornton
  • · 1.04 Park Factor
MLB · Giants @ Royals

Bryce Eldridge

Bryce Eldridge has displayed elite plate discipline during his current hot stretch, drawing at least one walk in five consecutive games (including a multi-walk performance on July 18). He bats second in the Giants' order, maximizing his plate appearance volume.

OVER 0.5 Walks-108
  • · Bryce Eldridge: 5 consecutive games with a walk (6 total BB in L5)
  • · Luinder Avila: 5.4 BB/9 (34 BB in 56.2 IP)
  • · Break-even win probability: 51.9%
MLB · Giants @ Royals

Salvador Perez

Tyler Mahle has been significantly vulnerable to right-handed hitters this season, allowing a massive .901 OPS and .323 batting average compared to a .708 OPS against lefties. Salvador Perez, batting cleanup for a Royals team missing Bobby Witt Jr., will be the primary engine of the offense.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+128
  • · Tyler Mahle vs RHB: .323 AVG / .901 OPS allowed
  • · Salvador Perez: Hit safely in 5 straight games, clearing 1.5 TB in 3 of those (4, 1, 4, 1, 2 TB)
  • · Break-even win probability: 43.8%
MLB · Tigers @ Cubs

Seiya Suzuki

Seiya Suzuki is the focal point of the Cubs' offense against lefties, carrying a .317 average and nearly a 1.000 OPS in the split. With 14-20 mph winds blowing in at Wrigley, his line-drive approach (.342 AVG in L10) is the only sustainable way to produce tonight. He faces Valdez, a sinker specialist, but Suzuki's current contact rate suggests he'll find grass at least once in 4-5 expected plate appearances. At -200, we're paying for safety, but the splits and environmental factors make this the most stable hit prop on the board.

OVER 0.5 Hits-200
  • · Suzuki .317 AVG vs LHP this season
  • · Suzuki .342 AVG in last 10 games
  • · Break-even odds 66.7% vs 76% expected hit probability in 4 ABs
MLB · Marlins @ Astros

Yordan Alvarez

Yordan Alvarez is entering a statistical perfect storm tonight. He has been nearly untouchable at Daikin Park, posting a .370 average and a massive 1.208 OPS in home games.

OVER 0.5 RBI+125
  • · Yordan Alvarez: .370 AVG / 1.208 OPS at home this season.
  • · Tyler Phillips: 6.53 ERA on the road vs. 1.41 at home.
  • · Alvarez has recorded an RBI in 4 of his last 5 games.
MLB · White Sox @ Rangers

Wyatt Langford

Wyatt Langford enters tonight as one of the hottest hitters in the American League, carrying an 11-game hitting streak and a .326 average over his last 10 games. Tonight's matchup is tailored for a right-handed power hitter; White Sox starter Noah Schultz has struggled significantly with right-handed bats, allowing all 8 of his home runs this season to righties and surrendering a .810 OPS.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+120
  • · Wyatt Langford 11-game hitting streak
  • · Noah Schultz 6.05 xERA and .371 xwOBA allowed
  • · Noah Schultz vs RHB: all 8 HR allowed and .810 OPS
MLB · White Sox @ Rangers

Andrew Benintendi

While Andrew Benintendi has had an up-and-down season, the matchup against Kumar Rocker provides a clear statistical opening. Rocker has demonstrated massive platoon struggles this season, allowing left-handed hitters to post a .289 average and an .857 OPS, including 9 home runs.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+143
  • · Kumar Rocker vs LHB: .289 AVG and .857 OPS allowed
  • · Kumar Rocker 6.75 ERA in last 5 starts
  • · Andrew Benintendi 10 RBI in last 10 games
MLB · Nationals @ Rockies

CJ Abrams

CJ Abrams steps into the cleanup spot tonight in what is the premier statistical matchup for a left-handed hitter on this slate. Rockies starter Michael Lorenzen has been consistently solved by lefties this season, surrendering a massive .338 batting average and a near-1.000 OPS to the side. Abrams has been the engine of the Nationals' run production, leading the team with 72 RBIs while maintaining a .933 OPS against right-handed pitching.

OVER 0.5 RBI-115
  • · Michael Lorenzen vs LHB: .338 AVG, .993 OPS allowed
  • · CJ Abrams vs RHP: .286 AVG, .933 OPS, 19 HR
  • · Lineup Spot: 4th (Cleanup) in 13.5-total environment
MLB · Nationals @ Rockies

Jake McCarthy

Jake McCarthy is a statistical outlier against left-handed pitching this season, and tonight he draws the struggling Carson Palmquist. McCarthy is hitting an elite .360 with a .947 OPS against southpaws, a split that plays perfectly into his role as the Rockies' leadoff hitter.

OVER 1.5 Hits+125
  • · Season vs LHP: .360 AVG, .947 OPS
  • · Home AVG: .323 at Coors Field
  • · Multi-hits in 2 of last 5 games played
MLB HR · Dodgers @ Phillies

Kyle Schwarber

Smart money ignores the 'Lefty vs. Lefty' narrative here because the data tells a different story.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+215
  • · Break-even: 31.7% (+215)
  • · Pitcher Justin Wrobleski allows 1 HR every 22 ABs to LHBs (4 HR in 88 AB)
  • · Wrobleski GO/AO is 0.71 (heavy fly-ball lean)
MLB HR · Marlins @ Astros

Yordan Alvarez

Yordan Alvarez is currently the hottest hitter in baseball, and tonight's matchup against Tyler Phillips is a statistical dream for a left-handed power threat. While Phillips' 3.48 ERA looks solid on the surface, his 4.87 xERA and 43.9% hard-hit rate suggest he’s been the beneficiary of immense luck that is unlikely to hold up against Alvarez.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+250
  • · 33 season home runs (33% rate) vs +250 odds (28.6% break-even)
  • · Tyler Phillips: 4.87 xERA vs 3.48 actual ERA (regression candidate)
  • · Phillips Platoon: .798 OPS and 5 of 8 HR allowed to left-handed hitters
MLB HR · Dodgers @ Phillies

Max Muncy

This is a value play based on the environment and Wheeler's narrow vulnerability. While Zack Wheeler is a Cy Young candidate, he isn't invincible; 60% of the home runs he has surrendered this season have come against left-handed hitters.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+360
  • · Break-even: 21.7% (+360)
  • · Zack Wheeler has allowed 6 of his 10 home runs this season to LHBs
  • · Muncy has a 1.500 OPS in limited action (2 AB) at Citizens Bank Park
MLB HR · Mets @ Brewers

Juan Soto

Juan Soto is the most dangerous hitter on the Mets roster against right-handed pitching, slugging 17 of his 21 homers this year against righties with a 1.034 OPS. He faces Brandon Sproat, who possesses high velocity but poor location, leading to an 8.8% barrel rate and a 42.7% hard-hit rate.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+280
  • · Soto: 17 of 21 HR vs RHP
  • · Sproat: 42.7% Hard-Hit Rate allowed
  • · Break-even probability: 26.3% (+280)
MLB HR · Mets @ Brewers

Francisco Lindor

Francisco Lindor has found his power stroke lately, recording home runs in two of his last five games. He faces a familiar face in Brandon Sproat, who was recently traded from the Mets and has struggled with power suppression, allowing 15 home runs over 82 innings this season.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+400
  • · Lindor: 2 HR in last 5 games
  • · Sproat: 15 HR allowed in 82 IP
  • · Break-even probability: 20% (+400)
MLB HR · Marlins @ Astros

Kyle Stowers

Betting on a Kyle Stowers home run is a direct play on Tatsuya Imai's specific weaknesses. Imai is a high-variance arm who allows a dangerous 10.5% barrel rate and has a glaring platoon issue; seven of the nine home runs he has surrendered this season have been to left-handed hitters.

OVER 0.5 Home Runs+310
  • · Imai Platoon: 7 of 9 home runs allowed have been to left-handed hitters
  • · Tatsuya Imai: 10.5% Barrel rate and 1.56 HR/9 allowed
  • · Kyle Stowers: 11 of 12 season home runs have come against right-handed pitchers
MLB · Cardinals @ Angels

Alec Burleson

Alec Burleson is a premier righty-killer, boasting a .310 average and a .930 OPS against right-handed pitching this season. He faces Walbert Ureña, a hard-thrower who allows a lot of traffic (1.32 WHIP) and struggles with command (5.1 BB/9).

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+103
  • · Alec Burleson: .310 AVG and .930 OPS against right-handed pitching this season
  • · Walbert Ureña: 1.32 WHIP and 5.1 BB/9 rate indicates high traffic and stress counts
  • · Game conditions: 88°F temperature and 10 mph wind blowing out to center field favors power carry
MLB · Athletics @ Diamondbacks

Shea Langeliers

Shea Langeliers is the primary beneficiary of tonight's pitching matchup. With Kohl Drake making his MLB debut from the left side, Langeliers steps into his preferred split. He has been a different hitter against southpaws this season, posting a massive 1.029 OPS and .333 average compared to just .229 against righties.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases+105
  • · Shea Langeliers: .333 AVG / 1.029 OPS vs LHP this season
  • · Shea Langeliers: 9 HR in only 33% of his total ABs (vs LHP)
  • · Kohl Drake: Making MLB debut as a LHP in hitter-friendly Chase Field
MLB · Reds @ Mariners

JJ Bleday

JJ Bleday has been the picture of consistency for the Reds, managing to find his way onto the hit column in nine of his last ten contests. Tonight, he faces a dream matchup against Luis Castillo, who has struggled significantly against left-handed power bats throughout 2026.

OVER 0.5 Hits-165
  • · JJ Bleday has recorded at least one hit in 9 of his last 10 games.
  • · Luis Castillo allows a .271 batting average and .838 OPS to left-handed hitters this season.
  • · Break-even win probability: 62.2% (odds: -165).
