Marlins -1.5Let’s not overthink this one, kid—I've seen enough bad pitching to know when a staff is waving the white flag, and Márquez’s bloated ERA (7.13) and sky-high WHIP (1.64) scream disaster against a Marlins lineup that at least puts the ball in play with Myers leading the way (.318 AVG). Miami’s Max Meyer isn’t exactly a Cy Young candidate (4.53 ERA), but he’s got enough juice to hold down a Rockies offense that’s circling the drain, with sub-.260 averages up and down the lineup and a team record (9-50) that looks like a misprint. If you’ve got the guts to lay the run line, the Marlins should bust this open by a couple—Colorado’s been a punching bag all year and nothing in these numbers says tonight will be any different.

Red Sox MoneylineI'm rolling with the Red Sox on the moneyline here—Richard Fitts may not have the wins, but his tidy ERA (2.70) and WHIP (1.10) show he's keeping Boston in games, and his .222 BAA says he doesn't give away much. Tyler Anderson's surface numbers are solid (3.39 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, .216 BAA), but Boston's lineup—led by Toro hitting .310—has more contact and fewer strikeout holes than the Angels' boom-or-bust bats, who are striking out at an alarming pace (O'Hoppe 66 K in 178 AB, Soler 63 K in 199 AB). At Fenway, I trust Boston to take advantage of their few consistent hitters and Fitts' ability to stifle the Angels' free swingers—if you want to sweat the spread for bigger odds, be my guest, but I'm locking in the safer win.

Tigers -1.5Look, you want a straight-shooter’s read? Detroit’s just a class above—39 wins to Chicago’s 18 tells the story, but it’s the details that matter. Jack Flaherty’s WHIP (1.11) and BAA (.215) show he’s been flat-out stingy, and the Tigers’ lineup has two steady bats in Dingler (.299) and Torres (.269) to punish a White Sox squad that’s practically allergic to run production. Cannon’s ERA (4.15) and WHIP (1.35) scream trouble against a patient Detroit offense, and the Sox have nobody with real pop outside Benintendi—this one’s not about hope, it’s about class. Lay the run line with Detroit if you’ve got the guts to bet like a pro.

Giants -1.5Logan Webb is the kind of workhorse you want on your ticket with his sharp 2.82 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, and he’s got the temperament to chew up impatient lineups like San Diego’s, who lean heavy on a few bats but have holes deeper in the order. Kolek’s been serviceable but hittable (4.11 ERA, 1.30 WHIP), and with the Giants’ top sticks like Ramos (.295 AVG) and Lee (.277 AVG) putting pressure early, I see San Francisco jumping on him at home. When you’ve got Webb’s command and a Giants lineup that can manufacture runs, you don’t play it safe with the moneyline—you go for the jugular on the spread. If you want to win like an old pro, you take the Giants -1.5 at plus money and don’t look back.

Twins -1.5Look, Joe Ryan has been dealing this year with a razor-sharp WHIP (0.83) and holding hitters to a measly .191 average, and that's bad news for an Oakland lineup that gets thin after Jacob Wilson. Severino's been steady but hittable (ERA 3.89, BAA .240), and this Twins crew can stack up runs when Buxton and Bader are going. Minnesota's got the clear edge on the mound and a more disciplined lineup top-to-bottom—if you've got the guts, you ride the -1.5 for plus value against an A's squad that's outclassed here.
