TALE OF THE TAPE
Milwaukee Sacramento Record 15-20 ← 8-27 Off Rating 112.6 ← 107.8 Def Rating 115.0 ← 119.5 Net Rating -2.4 ← -11.6 Key Injuries Prince (OUT) Sabonis (OUT)
Gary's Take Sometimes you have to fade a team that has completely let go of the rope, and right now, that team is the Sacramento Kings. Since losing defensive anchor Domantas Sabonis, the Kings haven't just been losing; they are getting destroyed. Their last four games have been losses by 27, 14, 41, and 24 points. They are hemorrhaging points in the paint, which is the absolute worst weakness to have when Giannis Antetokounmpo is coming to town.
The Milwaukee Bucks have their own issues this season, but they still have the best player on the floor. Giannis (29.0 PPG) is facing a Kings frontcourt rotation of rookie Maxime Raynaud and journeymen who simply cannot match his physicality. With DeMar DeRozan also in a slump (averaging just 15.4 points in his last five games), Sacramento lacks the firepower to keep up in a shootout.
This spread is surprisingly short given Sacramento's recent non-competitive form. The market is respecting the Bucks' road struggles (6-11), but this is a "get right" spot against a broken defense. I'm backing the Bucks to cover the number comfortably as Giannis feasts inside.
Injuries noted
Milwaukee Bucks: Gary Harris (Day-To-Day) — Jan 3: Harris (neck) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Kings.; Giannis Antetokounmpo (Day-To-Day) — Jan 3: Antetokounmpo (calf) is probable for Sunday's game against the Kings.; Taurean Prince (Out) — Jan 1: The Bucks applied for a Disabled Player Exception for Prince earlier this month, indicating that they anticipate that he's "substantially more likely than not" to be unable to play through June 15, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Sacramento Kings: Domantas Sabonis (Out) — Dec 19: Sabonis (knee) will be sidelined for at least 4-to-5 more weeks, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.

2Ryan RollinsOVER 15.5 Points Points-116
LActual 12
I'm telling you, Ryan Rollins is the real deal and the books haven't caught up yet. Since the Bucks moved on from Lillard, this kid has grabbed the steering wheel and he's not letting go.
He just hung 29 on Charlotte with a shooting display that looked like a video game, and now he gets a Sacramento defense that's basically a revolving door right now. With the Kings giving up over 122 points a night and Rollins playing with this much confidence, 15.5 is a gift.
He's averaging over 17 on the season and Doc Rivers is giving him all the minutes he can handle. Expect him to carve up the Kings' perimeter defense all night long.
Russell WestbrookOVER 6.5 Assists Assists-142
LActual 3
When Domantas Sabonis is out, the Kings' offense becomes the Russell Westbrook show, and that means he's the one pulling all the strings. Russ is averaging 7 assists on the season, and with the Kings' primary hub in Sabonis sidelined, the ball is going to be in his hands even more.
He's been taking the rookie Maxime Raynaud under his wing, and I expect him to feed the big man and the shooters early and often. The Bucks' defense has been leaky, and Westbrook knows exactly how to exploit those gaps in transition.
He might not be the triple-double machine of five years ago, but in this specific environment, he's the engine that's going to keep Sacramento moving.
