Gary's Take I love this spot for Miami. Even shorthanded in the backcourt with Terry Rozier out and Tyler Herro questionable, the Heat still bring the clearly stronger overall profile (net rating 6.5 vs 2.8 and offensive rating 117.1 vs 111.6). Orlando’s calling card is defense, especially at home (defensive rating 108.8 and 8-4 home record), but without Paolo Banchero their already modest offense is under more strain (team offensive rating 111.6).

Here’s how I see this playing out: Bam Adebayo works the middle of the floor and forces Orlando’s bigs like Goga Bitadze and Jonathan Isaac into tough decisions, while Andrew Wiggins and Norman Powell attack in transition and early offense (Miami pace 106.4 vs Orlando 102.8). The numbers don’t lie – Miami has been better in tight games too (clutch record 6-2 vs 4-4), which matters if this stays within a couple of possessions.

The public is going to look at Orlando’s home record and Banchero’s name and still lay the points, but the efficiency and clutch edges lean to Miami, and getting this many points with the better net-rating team is exactly where value lives (net rating gap +3.7 in Miami’s favor). Only way this misses is if Orlando’s role players catch absolute fire to mask their missing star for 48 minutes, and I’m willing to bet against that. Lock this in: Miami Heat +5.5 -110.
