Pittsburgh Pirates @ Baltimore Orioles
I’m backing Baltimore on the moneyline because Bradish’s stuff is biting and Pittsburgh is a swing-and-miss outfit; he has 15 strikeouts in 10 innings, and Reynolds alone has 157 strikeouts which tells you where the chases come from. Bradish’s 1.00 WHIP squeezes baserunners, so a Pirates lineup with Canario at .209 doesn’t stack many crooked numbers. Burrows is hittable with a 4.08 ERA, and his 1.26 WHIP puts traffic on that Baltimore can cash in. Sure, the O’s bats can vanish at times—Cowser is at .209—but Jackson’s game power shows up with 5 homers, so one or two swings should be enough behind Bradish today.
