Ian Happ’s 74 walks and Carson Kelly’s 42 extend innings, and Dansby Swanson’s 21 homers give them the hammer to cash those baserunners. On the other side, the Nats will give Assad room to work; Brady House has 61 strikeouts and Dylan Crews has 64, so he doesn’t need wipeout stuff to post zeros. Yes, Assad’s .289 opponent average is a soft spot, but Washington’s pop is thin with Daylen Lile sitting on 3 homers, so scattered knocks shouldn’t flip this.
