I’m backing Toronto because Gausman’s 1.07 WHIP and .214 opponent average tell me Milwaukee will struggle to string baserunners, and that’s how this club gets bogged down. The Brewers’ order is thin on impact and prone to chase, and Gausman’s 149 strikeouts in 153.2 innings punishes that kind of lineup. On the other side, Priester’s 1.26 WHIP means traffic, and contact bats like Bichette at .308 and Kirk’s low strikeout profile keep the ball in play and force damage. Sure, Priester’s 11-2 record and Milwaukee’s 84-52 mark are real, but Gausman’s tighter run prevention and the Jays’ contact edge make the moneyline the smart, blue-collar play—ride it if you’ve got the guts.
