The read

A 2-5 Arizona team, with its quarterback under fire, walks into AT&T Stadium to face a Dallas team coming off a 38-21 Monday night win in Philadelphia. The book wants a full touchdown. I'll take it.

Dallas's 3-4 record is softer than it looks. Its seven opponents are a combined 16-24-2 in their other games; Arizona's are 21-18-1. The Philadelphia win came against Tanner McKee with Jalen Hurts on IR, and the Washington win came after Jayden Daniels left at the end of the first half. Dallas has won by more than seven just twice.

The real problem in Dallas is the defense. Opponents convert 54% of their third downs, run for 145.7 yards a game, and complete 68% of their passes at 7.7 yards per attempt. Dallas has allowed at least 20 points in every game and has only four takeaways. Dee Winters is out, and Kenny Clark landed on Friday's report with a bad back.

That suits Arizona. The Cardinals have held the ball 30-plus minutes in five of seven games. They move it with Trey McBride, who has 59 catches on 78 targets, against Dallas linebackers and safeties who have been beaten in coverage. Long drives shorten the game, and the team getting seven wants a short game. Arizona has only six giveaways all year, so a turnover avalanche isn't likely.

Average each offense's scoring with what the other defense allows and you land near Dallas 28, Arizona 23. A seven-point Dallas win is a push.

The risks are real. Arizona's pass defense gives up 8.5 yards a throw, with 17 touchdowns against 3 interceptions, and Walter Nolen is out again. The Cardinals have one touchdown on their last ten red-zone trips, and Chad Ryland can only kick so many field goals. The line is thin, and Jacoby Brissett was hit 13 times last week. Watch center Hjalte Froholdt: he missed late-week practice and has no listed backup. If he sits, this gets shakier.

Jeremiyah Love is back, and Michael Wilson plays. I'm taking the points, but as a small bet, not a big one.

The research

The dated measurements the app shows under this card — observations with their sample and source, not predictions.

QUARTERBACK

  • Dak Prescott is the projected starting quarterback for DAL

    6.78 Y/A

Through 7 games in 2026, Dak Prescott threw for 1851 passing yards, completed 65.2% of his passes and averaged 6.78 yards per attempt. Last season over 17 games he threw for 4552 yards, completed 67.3% and averaged 7.59 yards per attempt, 30-10 touchdowns to interceptions. This season's 13-5 touchdown-to-interception line is 7 games in.

  • Jacoby Brissett is the projected starting quarterback for ARI

    5.67 Y/A

Through 7 games in 2026, Jacoby Brissett threw for 1600 passing yards, completed 64.9% of his passes and averaged 5.67 yards per attempt. Last season over 14 games he threw for 3366 yards, completed 64.9% and averaged 6.94 yards per attempt, 23-8 touchdowns to interceptions. This season's 10-6 touchdown-to-interception line is 7 games in.

TRENCHES

  • ARI: 126.3 rushing yards allowed per game to DAL's 145.7

    19.4 YPG

ARI is at 126.3 rushing yards allowed per game over 7 games; DAL is at 145.7 over 7 games. Those are what each defense has allowed in this season's games through Oct 31.

PASS RUSH

  • DAL: 1 sack taken per game to ARI's 2.14

    1.14 SACKS

ARI is at 2.14 sacks taken per game over 7 games; DAL is at 1 over 7 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 31. Last season ARI was at 3.69 over 17 games and DAL at 2.38 over 17 games.

  • ARI: 2.14 sacks recorded per game to DAL's 1.43

    0.71 SACKS

Arizona records 2.14 sacks a game over seven games, against 1.43 for Dallas over the same stretch. The Cardinals' rush is getting home more, though the gap is modest. In Dallas, that gives Arizona a slight edge in disrupting drives, a small factor for sack props.

  • DAL: 5.1 sack yards lost per game to ARI's 11.7

    6.6 YDS

ARI is at 11.7 sack yards lost per game over 7 games; DAL is at 5.1 over 7 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 31. Last season ARI was at 24.9 over 17 games and DAL at 16 over 17 games.

PACE & SCRIPT

  • ARI @ DAL carries a 54.5 market total

    54.5

At 54.5, this game ties for the highest total on a 13-game slate, 9 points above the 45.5 median, so the market is pricing a shootout in Dallas with both teams scoring. The sheet offers no injury or form detail, so the number is the whole case. The expectation cracks if either side slows the pace and leans on the clock. A total this high leaves little room for a quiet quarter.

  • DAL: 27 points per game to ARI's 20.3

    6.7 PPG

ARI is at 20.3 points per game over 7 games; DAL is at 27 over 7 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 31. Last season ARI was at 20.9 over 17 games and DAL at 27.7 over 17 games.

  • ARI: 32:16 time of possession per game to DAL's 28:03

    4:12 TOP

ARI is at 32:16 time of possession per game over 7 games; DAL is at 28:03 over 7 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 31. Last season ARI was at 29:48 over 17 games and DAL at 30:48 over 17 games.

  • DAL: 25.7 points allowed per game to ARI's 29.7

    4 PPG

ARI is at 29.7 points allowed per game over 7 games; DAL is at 25.7 over 7 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 31. Last season ARI was at 28.7 over 17 games and DAL at 30.1 over 17 games.

  • ARI: 68.4 offensive plays per game to DAL's 62.9

    5.6 PLAYS

ARI is at 68.4 offensive plays per game over 7 games; DAL is at 62.9 over 7 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 31. Last season ARI was at 63.2 over 17 games and DAL at 65.9 over 17 games.

TURNOVERS

  • ARI: 1.14 takeaways per game to DAL's 0.57

    0.57 TO

Arizona forces 1.14 turnovers a game over seven games, twice Dallas' 0.57 over the same count. Takeaway rates bounce around, so both numbers could move. The edge leans Arizona, but turnovers are a shaky thing to build a bet around.

EXPLOSIVE PLAYS

  • DAL: 5.64 yards per play to ARI's 4.51

    1.13 Y/P

Dallas gets 5.64 yards a play over seven games to Arizona's 4.51 over seven. Both are down from last season, 5.96 for Dallas and 5.18 for Arizona. Both teams had five plays of 20-plus last game, including Dak Prescott's 35-yarder to Ryan Flournoy and Jacoby Brissett's 35-yarder to Jalen Brooks, so both offenses can strike. The steadier efficiency belongs to Dallas at home.

RED ZONE

  • DAL: 74.1% red-zone scoring rate to ARI's 42.9%

    31.2 PP

Dallas is scoring touchdowns on 74.1% of red-zone trips over seven games, way up from 56.9% last season, while Arizona has dropped to 42.9% from 54.1%. Red-zone rates swing hard on small numbers of trips, so both teams are likely to move back toward last year's levels. ARI's struggles near the goal line mean field goals instead of touchdowns. For totals and spreads, expect both rates to cool off toward last season's marks.

MISMATCH

  • DAL: 5.64 yards a snap to ARI's 4.51

    5.64 VS 4.51

Dallas gains 5.64 yards a snap over seven games, Arizona 4.51 over seven. The Cowboys were at 5.96 last season, so they are close to their norm, while the Cardinals have dropped from 5.18. Arizona's offense is the one more likely to bounce back some, but on the road it has to grind out long drives to keep pace with a Dallas team that moves the ball more easily.

COVERAGE

  • ARI: 39.7% third downs allowed to DAL's 52.9%

    13.1 PP

Arizona allows conversions on 39.7% of third downs over 7 games, close to average, while Dallas allows 52.9% in its 7, which is poor. Seven games is enough to take Dallas's weakness seriously, even though third-down rates swing. In Dallas, the Cardinals' offense should have chances to keep drives alive.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

  • ARI lead the series with DAL since 2025

    1-0 SERIES

There is one meeting to go on: Arizona won 27-17 in Dallas last November. This game is again in Dallas, but one game from last season says little about where both teams are now.

REPLACEMENT

  • Michael Wilson (WR) is questionable for ARI

    QUESTIONABLE

Wilson said he played through two broken ribs in Sunday's 33-30 win at Dallas, and he is listed questionable. Broken ribs are painful and make taking hits hard for a receiver, even when a player is able to suit up. If he plays, his snaps or targets could be limited. That makes his receiving props a spot to wait on until his practice status is clearer.

  • Jake Ferguson (TE) is questionable for DAL

    QUESTIONABLE

Ferguson is Dallas's tight end and he suffered a low-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, reported Nov 2. Questionable means it is a real coin flip, and low-ankle sprains often leave a player limited even when he does play. The sheet does not name who takes his snaps, so check practice reports this week before trusting any Ferguson receiving number.

  • James Conner (RB) is ir-r for ARI

    IR-R

Conner remains on injured reserve with a foot injury, and when asked Monday if he will play again this season, his coach answered only "potentially." That is an open-ended outlook for the Cardinals' lead back. Arizona should be expected to keep leaning on its other backs at Dallas and beyond, with no return timeline in sight.

  • Tip Reiman (TE) is pup-r for ARI

    PUP-R

Reiman is on the PUP list with an ankle injury, and his coach said Monday he's "not too sure" Reiman plays again this season. That reads as a long shot for any return. Arizona's tight end work stays with the healthy players on the roster.

  • Jalen Brooks (WR) is on injured reserve for ARI

    IR

The Cardinals moved Brooks to injured reserve Tuesday with a wrist injury, so he misses at least the next several weeks, including the Dallas game. His snaps at receiver go to the rest of Arizona's group.

  • Jonathan Bullard (DT) is ir-r for DAL

    IR-R

The Cowboys opened Bullard's return window from injured reserve Thursday, so the defensive tackle is practicing again after his calf injury. He still has to be activated to play, so his status for Arizona hinges on whether Dallas adds him to the roster before kickoff. If he's activated, it adds depth to the interior line.

  • Marist Liufau (LB) is ir-r for DAL

    IR-R

Liufau (forearm) has been downgraded from questionable to out ahead of Monday night's game against the Eagles. Reported Oct 25.

SITUATIONAL

  • ARI (2-5) at DAL (3-4)

    +75 PT GAP

Arizona is 2-5 and -66, a margin that looks worse than its record. Dallas is 3-4 but +9, a team whose losses have likely been close. The splits cut the other way: the Cardinals are 2-2 on the road, and the Cowboys are 1-2 at home. Dallas's scoring says it is better than its record, and that matters more than a home split over three games.

    TREY MCBRIDERECEPTIONS OVER 7.5

    Trey McBride
    Receptions over 7.5

    -115 · LOST · ACTUAL 7

    Arizona Cardinals

McBride is the Arizona passing game. He has drawn double digit targets in all but one game this year, and he caught ten balls for 111 against Denver last week. The receiver room just got thinner. Jalen Brooks is done for the year with wrist surgery, Marvin Harrison Jr. is in Houston, and Michael Wilson is playing through a rib injury after limited practices all week. That funnels even more volume to the tight end.

The game script pushes the same way. Arizona is a touchdown underdog on the road, and when this team falls behind, Brissett throws forty plus times and works the middle of the field. The interior of the Cardinals line is patched together, with Jon Gaines out and Hjalte Froholdt questionable at center, so expect quick throws to McBride to beat pressure inside. Dallas is also without linebacker Dee Winters, which leaves Shemar James in coverage on the best tight end he will see all year. Give me McBride over 7.5 catches.

    JACOBY BRISSETTPASSING TDS UNDER 1.5

    Jacoby Brissett
    Passing Tds under 1.5

    Arizona Cardinals

This offense moves the ball between the twenties and then stalls. Arizona went into the red zone five times against the Rams and kicked six field goals with no touchdowns. Last week it reached the red zone five more times and scored once. Chad Ryland has become the closer, and the coaching staff keeps leaning on him. The beat coverage this week is about the same problem: Brissett has trouble finishing drives.

Dallas has been stingy with touchdowns through the air. No quarterback has thrown more than two against them since the opener, and McKee, Love and Daniels each managed one in the last three weeks. The Cardinals also have Jeremiyah Love back. He took red zone carries before his ankle injury, and he gives LaFleur a reason to run near the goal line. With a shaky interior line and a thin receiver group, Brissett's best path is short completions that eat up yardage without many touchdown chances. One touchdown or fewer is the likely outcome, and I'm getting plus money on it.
