The read
Clear skies and 57 degrees on the lakefront, Baltimore's first division game of the season, and no Lamar Jackson. Tyler Huntley takes the snaps, and the Ravens are still laying a field goal on the road.
That price says the market has already docked Baltimore heavily for Jackson's absence, and the public always overreacts to the biggest names. Huntley isn't a random backup. Huntley knows this offense, and in a full start at Atlanta the Ravens still produced +0.14 EPA per play with 0 interceptions and 1 giveaway. The ceiling drops; the floor holds.
The matchup that decides this one is Derrick Henry against a Browns interior that's falling apart. Mason Graham, Mike Hall Jr. and Kalia Davis are all out, Maliek Collins is playing through a foot injury, and Cleveland had to elevate Sam Kamara and Chris Williams from the practice squad. That's exactly the game a Huntley offense wants: feed Henry and keep the throws short to Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews.
On the other side, Cleveland's offense is the weakest unit on the field and just lost Quinshon Judkins and Raheim Sanders. A group ranked 24th in EPA per play now goes one-dimensional behind a line that has allowed 19 sacks, 8 of them last week. Tavius Robinson and Mike Green have been winning off the edge.
The Browns' 3-2 record flatters them, too. They're being outscored 18.6 to 22.4 points a game, and three of the wins came on narrow late finishes. Todd Monken said it himself: "We haven't played a clean game yet." Last week's loss looks more like who they are than an outlier.
The risks are real. Three is a key number, and a field-goal win is a push. Cleveland's defense has been better by EPA, so if Henry gets bottled up this becomes a grind where every point matters. Deshaun Watson has had big days, and dry weather helps. Ronnie Stanley is playing through an ankle injury that kept the left tackle out of practice. The -115 price trims the value as well.
But Baltimore is the better team on the field even with Huntley, and the matchups break its way on both sides of the ball. Lay the field goal.

QUARTERBACK
Tyler Huntley is the projected starting quarterback for BAL
6.44 Y/AThrough 2 games in 2026, Tyler Huntley threw for 264 passing yards, completed 78% of his passes and averaged 6.44 yards per attempt. Last season over 5 games he threw for 426 yards, completed 77.6% and averaged 6.36 yards per attempt, 2-0 touchdowns to interceptions. This season's 2-0 touchdown-to-interception line is 2 games in.
Deshaun Watson is the projected starting quarterback for CLE
6.82 Y/AThrough 5 games in 2026, Deshaun Watson threw for 1010 passing yards, completed 64.2% of his passes and averaged 6.82 yards per attempt. His 7-2 touchdown-to-interception line rounds out the current sample without turning an early-season profile into a settled one.
TRENCHES
BAL: 164.4 rushing yards per game to CLE's 94.2
70.2 YPGBaltimore runs the ball far more effectively than Cleveland, and the gap is wider than last season, when the Ravens ran for 156.6 a game and the Browns 97. Five games is a small sample, but both numbers sit close to last year's, so this looks like who these teams are. Expect Baltimore to lean on the ground game and try to control the clock. For bettors, Ravens rushing props and a slower game pace are the angles to think about.
BAL: 5.02 yards per rush attempt to CLE's 3.68
1.34 Y/CBAL is at 5.02 yards per rush attempt over 5 games; CLE is at 3.68 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 5.28 over 17 games and CLE at 3.9 over 17 games.
PASS RUSH
BAL: 2.2 sacks taken per game to CLE's 3.8
1.6 SACKSBAL is at 2.2 sacks taken per game over 5 games; CLE is at 3.8 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 2.65 over 17 games and CLE at 3 over 17 games.
CLE: 3.2 sacks recorded per game to BAL's 2
1.2 SACKSCleveland gets 3.2 sacks a game and Baltimore 2, over five games each. The Browns' rush gets home more often. Sacks depend on the protection a team faces, which the sheet doesn't cover. Baltimore's quarterback is the one likelier to be pressured in this game.
BAL: 16.4 sack yards lost per game to CLE's 22.6
6.2 YDSBAL is at 16.4 sack yards lost per game over 5 games; CLE is at 22.6 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 17.2 over 17 games and CLE at 20.3 over 17 games.
PACE & SCRIPT
BAL: 29.2 points per game to CLE's 18.6
10.6 PPGBAL is at 29.2 points per game over 5 games; CLE is at 18.6 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 24.9 over 17 games and CLE at 16.4 over 17 games.
BAL @ CLE carries a 39.5 market total
39.5This total is below most of the slate, so the market expects a tight game where possessions end in punts more often than touchdowns. Points likely arrive through field goals and field position. A fast start from either offense would push this off its expected script, and bettors can use the opening drives as a read on which way the game is tilting.
BAL: 32:03 time of possession per game to CLE's 28:36
3:27 TOPBAL is at 32:03 time of possession per game over 5 games; CLE is at 28:36 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 29:11 over 17 games and CLE at 29:18 over 17 games.
TURNOVERS
BAL: 0.6 turnovers committed per game to CLE's 1.4
0.8 TOBAL is at 0.6 turnovers committed per game over 5 games; CLE is at 1.4 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 1.35 over 17 games and CLE at 1.47 over 17 games.
BAL: 0.4 fumbles lost per game to CLE's 1
0.6 FUMBAL is at 0.4 fumbles lost per game over 5 games; CLE is at 1 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 0.71 over 17 games and CLE at 0.41 over 17 games.
EXPLOSIVE PLAYS
BAL: 6.36 yards per play to CLE's 4.72
1.64 Y/PBaltimore gains 6.36 yards a play over five games, up from 5.92 last season, while Cleveland sits at 4.72, a bit above last year's 4.33. Justice Hill had runs of 47 and 21 last game, while the Browns got five 20-plus plays, mostly Deshaun Watson throws to Isaiah Bond. Both teams look close to their identities, with Baltimore more efficient. Expect the Ravens to grind on the ground and the Browns to need chunk throws to keep up.
RED ZONE
BAL: 73.7% red-zone scoring rate to CLE's 45.5%
28.2 PPBAL is at 73.7% red-zone scoring rate over 5 games; CLE is at 45.5% over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 47.5% over 17 games and CLE at 52.6% over 17 games.
BAL: 3.8 red-zone trips per game to CLE's 2.2
1.6 TRIPSBAL is at 3.8 red-zone trips per game over 5 games; CLE is at 2.2 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 3.47 over 17 games and CLE at 2.24 over 17 games.
CLE: 42.9% red-zone scoring allowed to BAL's 58.8%
16 PPBAL is at 58.8% red-zone scoring allowed over 5 games; CLE is at 42.9% over 5 games. Those are what each defense has allowed in this season's games through Oct 17.
MISMATCH
BAL: 164.4 rush yards a game to CLE's 94.2
164.4 VS 94.2The widest gap between these two is rush yards a game: BAL ran for 164.4 rushing yards a game over 5 games; CLE ran for 94.2 rushing yards a game over 5 games this season. Last season BAL was at 156.6 over 17 games and CLE at 97 over 17 games.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
BAL lead the series with CLE since 2025
2-0 SERIESBaltimore swept Cleveland last season, but the two wins looked very different. The Sep 14 game was a 41-17 rout in Baltimore, while the Nov 16 rematch in Cleveland was a tighter 23-16 grind. That second game is the better guide for this trip to Cleveland: the Browns kept it to one score at home, so a big Ravens margin there is less of a given than the first meeting suggests.
REPLACEMENT
Dillon Gabriel (QB) is ir-r for CLE
IR-RGabriel is on injured reserve with a designation to return, which means the Browns have started the clock to bring him back but have not activated him. The last report, from Oct 10, had him ruled out with a back injury for the Jets game. Nothing on the sheet says he has been cleared for the Ravens, so plan as if he sits until Cleveland activates him.
Dylan Sampson (RB) is ir-r for CLE
IR-RSampson is designated to return from injured reserve, but the Browns will not activate him for the Ravens game, per an Oct 16 report. The knee keeps him out Sunday. Price Cleveland's backfield without him.
Raheim Sanders (RB) is on injured reserve for CLE
IRThe Browns put Sanders on injured reserve Tuesday, Oct 13, with a hip injury. That rules him out for the Ravens game and at least the next few weeks. With Sampson also staying on injured reserve, Cleveland is down two running backs this week, so expect a thinner rotation in the backfield.
Kalia Davis (DT) is ir-r for CLE
IR-RDavis is designated to return from injured reserve, but the quadriceps injury has him ruled out for the Ravens game as of Oct 17. Cleveland's defensive tackle group plays without him again Sunday, which is worth keeping in mind if you're thinking about Baltimore's ground game.
Durham Smythe (TE) is on injured reserve for BAL
IRThe Ravens put Smythe on injured reserve Wednesday, Oct 7, with an Achilles injury. He is out for the trip to Cleveland. An Achilles injury usually means a long absence, so Baltimore's tight end snaps go to the rest of the room for the foreseeable future.

SITUATIONAL
BAL: 8.1 yards per pass attempt to CLE's 5.52
2.58 Y/ABaltimore gains 8.1 yards every time it throws, up from 6.69 last season, while Cleveland is at 5.52, better than last year's 4.78 but still well behind. The Ravens can push the ball downfield, and the Browns have to grind out drives through the air with less per throw. Baltimore's number is likely to slip some toward last season, though the gap between these passing games should stay wide.
BAL (4-1) at CLE (3-2), a division game
-46 PT GAPBaltimore is 3-0 on the road with a +27 point differential and three straight wins. Cleveland's 3-2 record sits on a -19 differential, so the Browns have won more than their scoring suggests, though they are 2-0 at home. A team winning while being outscored tends to regress. This sets up as a road favorite with momentum against a home team whose record flatters it.
BAL: 229.8 team passing yards per game to CLE's 179.4
50.4 YPGBAL is at 229.8 team passing yards per game over 5 games; CLE is at 179.4 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 175.6 over 17 games and CLE at 165.2 over 17 games.
BAL: 21.6 first downs per game to CLE's 16.2
5.4 FDBAL is at 21.6 first downs per game over 5 games; CLE is at 16.2 over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 18.5 over 17 games and CLE at 15.8 over 17 games.
BAL: 38.5% third-down conversion rate to CLE's 30.6%
7.8 PPBAL is at 38.5% third-down conversion rate over 5 games; CLE is at 30.6% over 5 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 17. Last season BAL was at 40.9% over 17 games and CLE at 33.6% over 17 games.
STREAK
BAL has won 3 straight
W3Baltimore has won three straight and is 4-1. Without the opponents on the sheet, it's hard to know how much those wins should count. On the road at Cleveland in a division game, the form favors Baltimore, but a three-game run is a small window, so weigh it alongside the price rather than over it.

3- GARY'S PICKZAY FLOWERSRECEIVING YARDS OVER 57.5
Zay Flowers over 57.5 receiving yards at -113.
This number sat at 67.5 a week ago and 71.5 the week before. The book took ten yards off because Lamar Jackson is out again, and I think it cut too much. Flowers is the one Baltimore receiver a defense has to account for on every snap. Elijah Sarratt and tight end Matt Hibner are inactive, and Ja'Kobi Lane is questionable after missing four straight games, so the target tree is thin. Over the last three weeks no Raven has been thrown to more.
The matchup suits him. After Trevor Lawrence carved up Cleveland's zone coverage in the opener, Mike Rutenberg moved toward man coverage and has leaned on it since, most heavily against Pittsburgh. Man coverage is where a quick separator wins, and it gives a backup quarterback a clear answer early in the down. Cleveland has allowed 826 yards to wide receivers in five games. The Browns are also without Mason Graham, Mike Hall Jr. and Kalia Davis inside, which should pull safeties toward Derrick Henry and open the middle of the field.
Huntley has already shown how he uses Flowers: nine targets and eight catches at Atlanta. He also had a 26-yard grab on the tying drive that came off the board only because Baltimore accepted a 29-yard penalty. Count that catch and he clears this line comfortably.
The case against is real. His three big games this season came with Jackson behind center for at least half the snaps, and Huntley is averaging 6.4 yards per attempt to Jackson's 10.1. At Atlanta the catches were short, 53 yards on eight receptions. Denzel Ward can travel with him. If Baltimore builds a lead and leans on Henry, the passing volume shrinks. I still want the most trusted target in a thin room at a line the market just dropped by ten yards.
- GARY'S PICKTYLER HUNTLEYRUSHING ATTEMPTS OVER 5.5
Tyler Huntley over 5.5 rushing attempts at -102.
I'm laying the field goal with Baltimore today, and this prop fits that read. When Huntley has run the offense for most of a game, he has carried the ball. He had eight carries in each of his two busiest passing games last season and six at Atlanta last week, including the overtime sneak that won it. His low carry totals mostly come from partial appearances, and those are what drag his average down.
Cleveland's defense creates scramble chances. Rutenberg plays a lot of man coverage, which leaves defenders with their backs to the quarterback when the pocket breaks down. Baltimore's interior line is also patched together. Rookie Vega Ioane starts at center for a third straight week, Cam Jurgens and Andrew Vorhees are inactive, and Emery Jones Jr. is questionable at right guard. Under pressure, Huntley's instinct is to get out of the pocket and run.
The finish matters too. If the Ravens close this out, kneel-downs count as carries, and a road favorite with Henry grinding the clock is a good candidate to end in victory formation. Short yardage is another path: Huntley went to the sneak with the game on the line last week.
The risk is plain. Henry owns the goal line and most short-yardage snaps, and he will take the bulk of the designed runs. Huntley's per-game average this season sits below this number, and a clean pocket all afternoon would take the scrambles away. If Cleveland wins, the kneel-downs disappear. At an even price, I'll take the quarterback who runs when the play breaks down, on a team I expect to be protecting a lead late.
- GARY'S PICKTYLER HUNTLEYPASSING COMPLETIONS OVER 16.5
Tyler Huntley over 16.5 completions at -135.
Huntley went 24 of 32 at Atlanta in his first full start this year, finishing on eleven straight completions, and he was 8 of 9 in relief against Tennessee. Last December at Green Bay he went 16 of 20. His game is getting the ball out on time to the first open man, and Declan Doyle builds around that: screens to Derrick Henry, quick throws to Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews, and plenty of underneath work. A quarterback who throws like that gets you completions as long as he gets attempts.
The attempts should be there. The spread is three, so this projects as a one-score game deep into the fourth quarter, which keeps Baltimore balanced instead of salting it away on the ground. Cleveland's defense has faced about 39 dropbacks a game and allows nearly 240 passing yards per game. Mason Graham isn't expected to play, so Huntley should see less pressure up the middle and have more clean pockets for his quick game. Last week the market had him at 17.5. Dropping to 16.5 after a 24 completion game gives me the better number.
The risk is volume. Atlanta took overtime and 72 snaps to produce those 24 completions, and his Green Bay start was exactly 16. Baltimore throws less than the situation calls for, and with Quinshon Judkins inactive and Raheim Sanders on injured reserve, Cleveland may not score enough to force the Ravens to throw late. If Baltimore leads by two scores in the second half, Henry gets the ball and this stalls in the mid-teens. Two full starts is a thin sample, and -135 is a steep price.
I'll pay it. He completes what he throws, the pocket should be cleaner than usual, and a close division game keeps him throwing. Over 16.5.
