The read

I’m backing Arizona’s ability to sustain possessions against a Giants defense whose low scoring allowance looks more convincing than its underlying play. Through three 2026 games, New York has produced one sack on 104 opponent dropbacks and allowed opponents to convert 54.5% of third downs. That gives me reason to trust Brissett and McBride to keep Arizona moving. The Cardinals’ offensive success rate is 46.9%, versus New York’s 42.9%; my read is that Arizona has the more reliable path to enough scoring to cover this short number.

The strongest argument against Arizona is its own defense: 6.51 yards allowed per play gives Winston and the Giants a real opportunity to improve at home. Froholdt’s Questionable designation (FRESH, September 30) also leaves uncertainty around Arizona’s protection. Those concerns keep my confidence modest, especially with only three games of evidence. I still favor Arizona’s offensive advantage over New York’s chances of exploiting that vulnerable defense. At -2.5 and -110, a field-goal win cashes.

The research

The dated measurements the app shows under this card — observations with their sample and source, not predictions.

QUARTERBACK

  • Jacoby Brissett is the projected starting quarterback for ARI

    5.57 Y/A

Through 3 games in 2026, Jacoby Brissett threw for 652 passing yards, completed 70.1% of his passes and averaged 5.57 yards per attempt. Last season over 14 games he threw for 3366 yards, completed 64.9% and averaged 6.94 yards per attempt, 23-8 touchdowns to interceptions. This season's 4-1 touchdown-to-interception line is 3 games in.

  • Jameis Winston is the projected starting quarterback for NYG

    4.67 Y/A

Through 2 games in 2026, Jameis Winston threw for 229 passing yards, completed 51% of his passes and averaged 4.67 yards per attempt. Last season over 3 games he threw for 567 yards, completed 56.1% and averaged 8.59 yards per attempt, 2-2 touchdowns to interceptions. This season's 0-1 touchdown-to-interception line is 2 games in.

TRENCHES

  • NYG: 104.3 rushing yards allowed per game to ARI's 127.7

    23.3 YPG

ARI is at 127.7 rushing yards allowed per game over 3 games; NYG is at 104.3 over 3 games. Those are what each defense has allowed in this season's games through Oct 3.

PASS RUSH

  • ARI: 1.33 sacks recorded per game to NYG's 0.33

    1 SACKS

Arizona has 1.33 sacks a game, and the Giants have 0.33 over three games. Both pass rushes have been quiet, and sack numbers this low often reflect the quarterbacks faced. Neither side looks set to wreck the game up front, so quarterbacks in this one should have time, especially Arizona's.

PACE & SCRIPT

  • NYG: 18.3 points allowed per game to ARI's 27

    8.7 PPG

The Giants are allowing 18.3 points a game through three, a big improvement on last season's 25.8, while Arizona is at 27, close to its 28.7 from a year ago. Arizona's defense looks like the same group, while New York's three-game number is likely to move back up. Arizona's offense facing a defense that has been better than its history is the matchup that decides how many points this game produces.

  • ARI: 21 points per game to NYG's 15.3

    5.7 PPG

ARI is at 21 points per game over 3 games; NYG is at 15.3 over 3 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 3. Last season ARI was at 20.9 over 17 games and NYG at 22.4 over 17 games.

  • ARI: 66.7 offensive plays per game to NYG's 60.3

    6.3 PLAYS

ARI is at 66.7 offensive plays per game over 3 games; NYG is at 60.3 over 3 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 3. Last season ARI was at 63.2 over 17 games and NYG at 63.8 over 17 games.

RED ZONE

  • ARI: 3.67 red-zone trips per game to NYG's 2.67

    1 TRIPS

ARI is at 3.67 red-zone trips per game over 3 games; NYG is at 2.67 over 3 games. Those are this season's games through Oct 3. Last season ARI was at 3.59 over 17 games and NYG at 3.47 over 17 games.

MISMATCH

  • NYG: 18.3 points allowed a game to ARI's 27

    18.3 VS 27

The Giants are allowing 18.3 points a game over three games, Arizona 27. Arizona was at 28.7 last season, so its number looks real, while the Giants jumped from 25.8 and could slide back. At home the Giants have the stronger defense so far, and Arizona's defense needs to hold up against a Giants offense facing a unit that has struggled both seasons.

COVERAGE

  • NYG: 5.77 yards per play allowed to ARI's 6.57

    0.8 Y/P

The Giants allow 5.77 yards per play, and Arizona allows 6.57. Both numbers are on the soft side, and three games is a short sample, so the gap is modest. That points to a game where both offenses can move the ball, with a slight edge to the Giants offense.

  • ARI: 44.8% third downs allowed to NYG's 54.5%

    9.7 PP

Over 3 games, Arizona lets offenses convert 44.8% of third downs, and the Giants have allowed 54.5%, which means drives against New York keep going more than half the time. Without opponent detail on the sheet, it is hard to say how much of that is schedule. Third-down rates swing a lot over three games and usually drift back toward the middle. The gap points toward Arizona sustaining drives, so totals and Cardinals scoring lean that way if it holds.

REPLACEMENT

  • Jaxson Dart (QB) is on injured reserve for NYG

    IR

Dart had surgery to repair the meniscus and MCL in the left knee, and injured reserve means Dart is out for at least several weeks. The Giants face Arizona with a different quarterback, and with two ligament and cartilage repairs, this is a long-term absence rather than a week-to-week call.

  • Chauncey Golston (DE) is questionable for NYG

    QUESTIONABLE

Golston hurt his neck in Sunday's win over the Cardinals and did not return. Questionable puts his status for the next game in real doubt, and neck injuries tend to get handled carefully, so the practice reports this week will say more than the tag does. The sheet does not name who takes his snaps, so hold off on any read of the Giants front until his status firms up.

  • Paris Johnson Jr. (OT) is questionable for ARI

    QUESTIONABLE

Johnson protects the quarterback at tackle for Arizona, and coach Mike LaFleur confirmed a biceps injury after Sunday's 36-24 loss to the Giants. Questionable means his availability is unsettled. A backup tackle can mean more pressure on the quarterback, so check his practice status before leaning on Arizona's passing game.

  • Jason Pinnock (S) is questionable for NYG

    QUESTIONABLE

Pinnock took a concussion in Sunday's 36-24 win over the Cardinals. A concussion means he has to clear the league protocol before he plays again, so the questionable tag depends on medical steps more than how he feels. If he is still in protocol late in the week, plan on the Giants playing without him at safety.

  • Isaiah Adams (G) is questionable for ARI

    QUESTIONABLE

Adams hurt his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Giants, and he goes into the rematch in New York as questionable. That means the team hasn't ruled him in or out, and the call likely comes late in the week or near kickoff. An offensive guard rarely moves a line alone. If he sits, the Cardinals' run game and pass protection lose some reliability, which is worth weighing on rushing props.

  • Brian Burns (LB) is on injured reserve for NYG

    IR

The Giants placed Burns on injured reserve Tuesday with a knee injury, so he is out against Arizona. He is their top pass rusher, and losing him cuts into how much pressure New York can create. That gives the Cardinals' quarterback a cleaner pocket, worth factoring into Arizona passing markets.

  • Will Johnson (CB) is on injured reserve for ARI

    IR

The Cardinals placed Johnson (neck) on injured reserve Wednesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Reported Sep 23.

SITUATIONAL

  • ARI: 100% fourth-down conversion rate to NYG's 50%

    50 PP

Fourth-down rates over three games rest on very few attempts, so 100% and 50% can flip with one play. Last season Arizona converted 42.9% and the Giants 46.2%, which makes the Cardinals' perfect start look like a small-sample run. Expect it to come down, and weigh aggressiveness over the rate itself when thinking about late-game situations.

  • ARI: 210 team passing yards per game to NYG's 153

    57 YPG

Arizona is throwing for 210 yards a game and the Giants for 153 through three games. Both are below last season, ARI at 232.6 and NYG at 204.4, and New York's drop is the larger one. The Giants' passing should come back up some, but Arizona has the more reliable air attack in this one, which matters for passing yard props on both sides.

  • ARI (1-2) at NYG (2-1)

    +9 PT GAP

The Giants are 2-1 and 2-0 at home, yet -9 on the year, so the record flatters them some. Arizona is 1-2, -18 and has lost two straight. The Giants' home results are the best thing they have going, but negative margins tend to catch up with a team over a season. Both teams carry negative margins, which makes this a matchup of two flawed sides more than a clear edge.

    ISAIAH LIKELYRECEPTIONS OVER 3.5
    NFLNew York Giants· -160

    Isaiah Likely
    Receptions over 3.5

    -160 · CASHED · ACTUAL 7

    New York Giants

I’m taking Likely over 3.5 receptions at -160. Four catches cashes. He has drawn 23 targets through three 2026 games and played 54 of New York’s 64 offensive snaps last week. Arizona has allowed tight ends 16 catches for 187 yards through three games. That matchup gives the Giants’ primary tight end a supported path to the short completions this ticket needs.

The strongest objection is his latest performance: five targets produced only two catches against Tennessee. His earlier eight-catch game also came before Winston’s two appearances, so I’m keeping the quarterback change in view. The price is demanding, but Likely’s substantial playing time and Arizona’s production allowed to tight ends give me enough conviction to take it.

  • GARY'S PICK
    THEO JOHNSONRECEIVING YARDS OVER 8.5
    NFLNew York Giants· -113

    Theo Johnson
    Receiving Yards over 8.5

    -113 · CASHED · ACTUAL 11

    New York Giants

I’m taking Johnson over 8.5 receiving yards at -113, with a narrow edge. Nine yards cashes. Arizona has conceded 187 receiving yards to tight ends across three 2026 games, giving Johnson a favorable positional matchup. Those yards belong to opposing tight ends collectively, so I’m tying this bet to the modest requirement and Johnson’s demonstrated opportunity: he drew four targets against the Rams.

The strongest contrary evidence is his secondary role behind Likely. Johnson has only one catch for nine yards this season, and those four Rams targets produced no catches while he played 16 of 57 offensive snaps. His opportunities are limited. I’m accepting that concern at -113 because one modest reception can clear this particular line.
