Gary's Take Portland is the definition of a road fraud right now. The Pilots are 0-4 away from home this season, and it is not just that they are losing; they are getting dismantled. With an average road scoring margin of -25.5, Shantay Legans' squad has shown zero ability to pack their defense when they leave the Rose City. They are coming off a 21-point blowout loss to Saint Mary's just two days ago, and now they have to walk into the Hilltop to face a San Francisco team that has historically owned this matchup.

The Dons are a completely different animal at War Memorial. Chris Gerlufsen has built a veteran-heavy rotation led by Ryan Beasley and David Fuchs that prioritizes ball security and perimeter defense. While Portland likes to play fast and launch from deep, San Francisco ranked in the top 5 nationally in three-point defense last season and continues to make life miserable for jump-shooting teams. The Pilots turn the ball over more than 14 times per game, and in a hostile environment like the Sobrato Center, those mistakes will turn into transition layups for the Dons very quickly.
