Jalen Brunson is going to be living on the court today with the Knicks' backcourt depth absolutely decimated. Without Miles McBride or Landry Shamet to spell him, Brunson is likely looking at upwards of 40 minutes as the primary floor general.
When he gets that kind of run, his playmaking naturally takes a leap because the offense flows entirely through his hands for almost every possession. The Cavaliers are a tough defense, but they're dealing with their own frontcourt issues, which should open up passing lanes for Jalen to find guys like Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges.
I'm expecting him to act as the ultimate facilitator while trying to keep the Knicks' offense in rhythm for the full four quarters. This assist total feels a bit low given the massive workload he's about to shoulder as the only true point guard available.

Josh Hart is the heart and soul of this Knicks roster, and today he's going to have to do even more work on the glass than usual. With Evan Mobley out for Cleveland, the Cavaliers lose their length and most versatile rebounder, leaving a massive void in the paint that Hart is famous for filling.
We know Tom Thibodeau doesn't like to take Hart off the floor, especially with their bench currently thin, so he'll have plenty of chances to hunt down boards. He consistently outworks bigger players for positioning, and without Mobley to contend with, he’s going to have a much easier time cleaning up misses on both ends.
Hart plays with a motor that most guys just can't match, and in a physical matchup against Cleveland, I expect him to be everywhere on the defensive glass. He's one of the best rebounding guards in the league for a reason, and tonight is the perfect setup for him to dominate the boards.
