Gary's Take I love this spot for Miami tonight. The numbers don't lie – the Heat have been the more complete team with a stronger efficiency profile on both ends (115.8 offensive rating vs 114.4; 111.4 defensive rating vs 113.7) and a clear overall edge (net rating +4.5 vs +0.8). At home they’ve been tough to crack (10-3 home record, 14-11 overall), while Toronto is good but not dominant on the road (7-5 away, 15-11 overall). With RJ Barrett out (listed OUT on the injury report), the Raptors lose a key wing scorer and creator, putting more on Brandon Ingram and Immanuel Quickley (Ingram at 21.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.8 apg; Quickley at 16.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 6.2 apg, 38.2% from three).

Here's how I see this playing out: in a fast game where both teams want to run (pace 106.0 for Miami vs 101.6 for Toronto), Miami’s shooting and playmaking at home start to separate things. Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell space the floor at a high clip (Wiggins 37.9% from three, Mitchell 39.3%), and the Heat as a team are simply better from deep (37.2% on 10.7 makes vs 35.1% and 8.5 makes for Toronto). Both teams protect the ball similarly (turnover rates around 11.7–11.8%), so this comes down to shot quality and efficiency, and Miami’s three-point edge plus home court tilt it their way.

Even if Toronto hangs around – and their slight edge in overall shooting efficiency shows they can score (57.3% effective field goal vs 56.2%) – the Heat’s experience in tight games at home should matter (6-3 in games decided by five or fewer points vs 3-1 for Toronto, with more late-game reps). Only way this misses is if Ingram and Quickley absolutely torch Miami from deep while the Raptors’ role players overperform on the road.
