The starting-pitcher separation is large enough for me to pay the road-favorite price. Dylan Cease owns a 2.33 ERA and 1.05 WHIP, and his last three starts produced 19.0 IP, 4 ER, 26 K and 9 BB. His 1.67 road ERA over 70.0 IP further supports the matchup.
Cease also lacks an obvious platoon weakness: left-handed hitters have a .161 AVG and .536 OPS against him, while right-handed hitters have a .196 AVG and .530 OPS. That matters against a Cleveland lineup with four left-handed hitters and four switch-hitters.
Joey Cantillo has allowed only 4 ER over his last 16.2 IP, but his 13 K and 14 BB during those three starts make that run prevention difficult to trust. He issued 7 BB with only 1 K in his latest outing. Toronto starts six right-handed hitters, while Cantillo has allowed right-handers a .258 AVG and .753 OPS. At -132, his edge over Cantillo is enough for me to back Toronto.

The left-on-left matchup does not scare me here. Bateman is 11-for-28 against left-handed pitching, while Joey Cantillo has a 1.45 WHIP and has allowed a .371 xwOBA on his four-seam fastball. Cantillo's recent run prevention has also come with 14 walks against 13 strikeouts over his last three starts, so I expect Toronto to create traffic and turn the lineup over.
The price is heavy, but Bateman's contact, current form and volume make one hit the strongest prop on this board.
