Guardians at Angels

I’m taking Cleveland to win, but I’m keeping the run line out of it. Walbert Ureña is the reason: he owns a 2.27 ERA at Angel Stadium, a 0.86 first-inning ERA and has allowed only a 5.3% barrel rate. The Angels have a legitimate path to keep this tight, so laying 1.5 runs asks for more than my read supports.

Cleveland has the cleaner full-game setup. Gavin Williams carries a 1.09 WHIP with 201 strikeouts in 154.2 innings, and the Guardians’ current bullpen has a 3.15 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, compared with 3.41 and 1.24 for Los Angeles. Over the last seven games, those bullpens have allowed two earned runs in 23 innings and three in 19.1 innings, respectively. Cleveland has also committed no errors and allowed no unearned runs during that span; the Angels have made four errors leading to five unearned runs.

The five-game winning streak is not a guarantee, particularly given the opposition, but Cleveland’s present formula is repeatable tonight: power pitching, clean defense and enough established relief depth to finish a close game. My read is that Ureña keeps Los Angeles competitive, while Williams and the stronger nine-inning structure get Cleveland home. Guardians moneyline is the ticket that matches that game.
