Sunday night in Houston, the roof is shut, the series is level, and the AL West lead is sitting under the lights. This has the feel of a tight game decided after the starters leave.
Hunter Brown is the matchup I trust more. His power fastball can expose Seattle’s swing-and-miss, while his heavy sinker should limit the sustained rallies the Mariners produced Saturday. Bryan Woo has rediscovered his command, but his 6.22 road ERA is too severe to dismiss against Yordan Alvarez and a Houston lineup built to punish right-handed pitching.
The separator is the bullpen. Seattle’s relief corps has a 6.94 ERA over its past seven games, with Muñoz, Bazardo and Ferrer all working twice in the last three.
