Brad Lord is still easing his way back from a month-long stint on the injured list for side tightness, and Washington is treating his starts as open-ended bullpen games rather than traditional rotation outings. He threw 53 pitches over 2.1 innings on July 1 and followed that up with 51 pitches over 2.2 innings on August 9 against Cincinnati.
The Nationals have a parade of multi-inning relievers waiting behind him, including Will Dion and Trevor Williams, specifically designed to bridge the middle frames. Asking Lord to log 12 full outs on a pitch count capped right around 50 to 55 pitches would require absurd efficiency.

He is making consistently hard contact—averaging 93.6 mph in exit velocity recently—and gets a prime matchup against Brad Lord and a heavily taxed Washington bullpen. With Francisco Lindor and Bo Bichette setting the table directly in front of him, Benge should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs or cross the plate himself.
Getting this line at nearly even money is a solid value.
