Warm Saturday night in Cincinnati, short porch waiting, with storms nearby and two right-handers trying to survive a park that punishes mistakes. After Friday’s 1-0 squeeze, this one should have more movement.
Singer’s weakness against left-handed bats decides it for me. Miami can stack Marsee, Conine, Caissie, Mack and Pauley around switch-hitter Xavier Edwards, and Conine is seeing the ball too well to ignore. Singer has allowed a .849 OPS and 16 homers to lefties, so his solid home record doesn’t scare me off.
Gusto is vulnerable, but Cincinnati’s right-heavy lineup runs into his better platoon split, and several Reds are cold outside the dangerous Stewart-Stephenson-Suárez pocket. Miami also has the fresher leverage options after using only Ekness last night. At essentially an even price, I’ll take the slightly better matchup and put my $100 on Miami.

Miami has consistently treated him like a short-stint starter, so I’m betting against a sudden workload expansion. The possibility of a mid-game weather interruption adds another path to an early exit. At nearly even money, I’ll take him to record no more than 14 outs.
