The read
Late-afternoon sun over Chavez Ravine, wind drifting toward center, and the National League’s two best records sharing the stage. This one belongs to the arms.
Jacob Misiorowski is the separator. His fastball can erase the top of this Dodgers order, and his curveball gives even elite hitters no comfortable speed to hunt. Justin Wrobleski has allowed 15 earned runs in his last three starts, with declining length and too much damaging contact. Milwaukee does not need a huge offensive night; it needs Chourio, Vaughn and Sánchez to cash in a few mistakes.
I considered the Brewers run line, but Turang’s absence, the lineup’s recent inconsistency and Uribe’s injury make laying 1.5 too ambitious. The Dodgers can keep this close at home, yet their best late-inning arms are taxed and Díaz is unavailable. At -122, I’ll pay the modest premium for the enormous starting-pitching advantage without demanding Milwaukee win by multiple runs.

2Jacob MisiorowskiOVER 8.5 Strikeouts Strikeouts-120
LActual 6
Misiorowski has reached nine strikeouts in five of his last six starts, including 31 over his last 18 innings. His 100.6 mph fastball and high-whiff curveball attack the swing-and-miss in Shohei Ohtani, Max Muncy and Teoscar Hernandez especially well. I expect enough length to give him a clean shot at nine, and -120 is a reasonable price for the most overpowering starter in baseball.
Jake BauersOVER 0.5 Walks Walks+176
Not yet graded
Bauers has drawn a walk in 10 of his last 15 games while chasing only 23 percent of pitches in his recent sample. He is also carrying a .939 OPS over the last 15 days, giving Wrobleski a reason to work carefully with him in the cleanup spot. Wrobleski's command and efficiency have deteriorated during his three-start skid. At +176, I only need one patient plate appearance.
