The read
Sunday afternoon under the closed roof, Texas is chasing a sweep while Baltimore is trying to end a three-game slide. The Rangers have the momentum, but I think this matchup gives the Orioles a real chance to turn things around.
Kumar Rocker has struggled more against left-handed hitters, and Baltimore can use five of them, led by Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Holliday, and Colton Cowser. Cade Povich faces a Texas lineup filled with right-handed hitters, which suits him better, and his scoreless outing last time suggests he came back ready after the long break.
Texas has been playing better lately and has the stronger relief pitching, so this won’t be easy. But Baltimore has the better matchup between the starting pitchers and opposing hitters, and I’m backing the Orioles to win as the underdog.
The full analysis
Sunday afternoon under the closed roof at Globe Life Field, with Texas hunting a sweep and Baltimore trying to stop a three-game slide. The Rangers have momentum, but this matchup gives the Orioles a real chance to flip the script.
Kumar Rocker has been much more vulnerable to left-handed hitters, and Baltimore can send five bats from that side, led by Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Holliday and Colton Cowser. Cade Povich draws a right-heavy Texas lineup, which plays into his stronger platoon split, and his six scoreless innings last time out suggest he returned ready after the long layoff.
Texas owns the better recent form and bullpen, so this is no layup. But Baltimore has the more favorable starter-to-lineup matchup, and I’m willing to back that edge at an underdog price. Gary’s Take: Orioles moneyline at +116.

3Gunnar HendersonOVER 0.5 Walks Walks+151
Not yet graded
Henderson has drawn a walk in nine of his last 15 games, and his recent 15% chase rate shows the plate discipline is intact even while the hits have been scarce. Kumar Rocker has issued two walks in four straight starts, and Henderson gets the maximum opportunity from the leadoff spot. The matchup and plus-money price make this my favorite prop on the board.
Carlos NarvaezUNDER 0.5 H+R+RBI H+R+RBI+104
LActual 1
Narvaez is 1-for-20 over the last 15 days and has contributed a hit, run or RBI in only four of his last 15 games. He bats ninth against a starter holding right-handed hitters to a .209 average and .587 OPS, with Texas able to follow Rocker with its stronger relief arms. I like plus money on another quiet afternoon from the bottom of Baltimore's order.
Corey SeagerOVER 0.5 Home Runs Home Runs+750
LActual 0
The price is doing the work here. Cade Povich has allowed three homers in only 36 at-bats against left-handed hitters, and his 44.2% hard-hit rate leaves room for another damaging swing.
Seager’s recent results are uneven, but his contact has been loud: a 92.6 mph average exit velocity with nine hard-hit balls over his recent sample. He also drove one 418 feet Saturday.
At +750, I’ll bet Seager to leave the yard again.
