Specifically, Yandy Diaz (.387 AVG, 1.116 OPS at home; .370 AVG in day games) hits .391 against the sinker, while Junior Caminero (.313 AVG, 1.035 OPS at home; .298 AVG in day games) boasts a .415 xwOBA against the pitch. Blackburn's heavy reliance on his sinker (33.1% usage) plays right into their hands. On the other side, Rasmussen has absolutely dominated the Yankees' current lineup, holding this core to a combined 1-for-23 (.043 BA) with 14 strikeouts. Furthermore, the Yankees' offensive output has plummeted during their slide, especially with Giancarlo Stanton's recent calf setback keeping him out of the lineup.

The defensive metrics further separate these teams in a pitcher-friendly park carrying a 0.93 park factor. The Rays' infield features gold-standard shortstop Taylor Walls, who leads the AL in Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) to support Rasmussen's ground-ball profile (1.18 GO/AO). Conversely, the Yankees' infield is regressing, with Ryan McMahon posting a .947 fielding percentage and Jose Caballero carrying a -2 OAA.
