Facing a top-heavy Yankees order that lacks depth, Seymour’s fly-ball-heavy approach is perfectly insulated by a pitcher-friendly park and a Tampa Bay outfield defense that leads the American League with 27 Defensive Runs Saved.

Conversely, Yankees starter Will Warren has hit a major wall, pitching to a 5.04 ERA and a bloated 1.70 WHIP over his last five starts while failing to finish the sixth inning in any of those outings. Warren relies heavily on his sinker, which is a massive liability against this specific Tampa Bay lineup. The Rays' core hitters absolutely feast on sinkers, with Yandy Diaz batting .393, Jonathan Aranda hitting .404, and Junior Caminero posting a .368 average against the pitch. This tactical matchup should allow Tampa Bay to generate consistent, early run support and knock Warren out of the game before he can settle in.
