Oswald Peraza is a high-end 'lefty-killer' who has been a revelation for the Angels when facing southpaws this season. His .357 average and 1.129 OPS against left-handed pitching are elite, and he draws a prime matchup against Cole Ragans tonight.
Ragans has been statistically one of the worst starters in the American League this month, posting a 6.00 ERA and an even more concerning 6.55 xERA. Ragans has struggled with both command (18 walks) and contact (1.67 WHIP), giving Peraza multiple opportunities to find the grass.
