The read
I'm not buying what Trevor Williams is selling with that ugly ERA (5.69) and sky-high WHIP (1.45), especially when hitters are tagging him for a .291 average—he's a sitting duck for a Cubs lineup that can string together tough at-bats, even if their averages aren't flashy. Cade Horton may only have 20 innings under his belt, but he's shown sharper command (1.23 WHIP, .266 BAA) and hasn't wilted under pressure yet, which is more than I can say for Williams lately. Chicago's got the superior record (37-22) for a reason—they grind out wins and don't cough up games to weaker arms. If you want to sweat out a Nationals upset with Williams on the bump, be my guest, but I'm riding with the Cubs to handle business straight up.
