Gary's Take Don't let the neutral site label fool you—Nissan Stadium in Nashville is Vol Country. Tennessee is essentially playing a home game here, but the real story is in the trenches, where Illinois has been decimated by opt-outs.

The Illini are missing their two most indispensable players: First Team All-Big Ten Left Tackle J.C. Davis and sack leader Gabe Jacas (11.0 sacks). That is a catastrophe for a team facing SEC athleticism. Without Davis protecting his blindside, efficient QB Luke Altmyer is in for a long afternoon against a Tennessee front that, while missing Joshua Josephs, still has the speed to wreck this makeshift offensive line. Conversely, without Jacas setting the edge, Illinois loses the one guy capable of disrupting Joey Aguilar's rhythm.

Tennessee's offense averages over 110 more yards per game than Illinois. While the loss of WR1 Chris Brazzell hurts, Aguilar has the depth to spread the ball around, and the tempo will eventually crack a depleted Illini defense. I expect Tennessee to feed off the Nashville crowd, pressure Altmyer into mistakes, and cover this number comfortably.
