Gary's Take Oklahoma is a different beast within the friendly confines of the Lloyd Noble Center. Porter Moser has his Sooners playing some of the most efficient offensive basketball in the country, highlighted by an elite 125.9 offensive rating. The engine here is the backcourt duo of Nijel Pack and Xzayvier Brown. Pack is shooting a blistering 51% from beyond the arc, which creates a massive mathematical problem for opponents. When you factor in Oklahoma's 1.80 assist-to-turnover ratio—ranking 14th nationally—you realize they simply do not beat themselves. They protect the rock, they find the open man, and at home, they usually find the bottom of the net.

Ole Miss comes into Norman with a respectable record, but the underlying numbers are a massive red flag. Chris Beard's squad is 0-5 against Power Conference opponents this season. While Beard is a defensive wizard known for his 'No-Middle' scheme, it hasn't translated to success against elite competition yet. Malik Dia and AJ Storr provide plenty of scoring punch, but the Rebels' efficiency lags significantly behind the Sooners. They are seeking their first Quad 1/2 win of the season, and Lloyd Noble is a brutal place to try and find it. Oklahoma has outscored opponents by an average of 29 points per game in this building this season.

This game will be won on the perimeter. Oklahoma averages 10.5 made threes per game and takes nearly 30. If the Rebels can't force turnovers to fuel their transition game—which is difficult against a team that only coughs it up 9.4 times per contest—they are going to get buried by the math. In a conference opener, expect Oklahoma to maintain their focus. The spread of 6.5 feels light for a team that has been so dominant at home against an opponent that has consistently stumbled against top-tier talent. I see Oklahoma pulling away in the second half to cover this number with ease.
