Their edge in shot-making (better effective field goal percentage and stronger three-point numbers) means more of their trips end in points, and their ability to get to the line more often (higher free-throw rate and more attempts) adds easy scoring on top of that. Army brings toughness on the glass (clear offensive rebounding edge) and takes care of the ball about as well as UMBC, but those extra boards are fighting uphill against a significant efficiency gap.
