This is a role bet. Morris is opening for Minnesota, with Connor Prielipp positioned as the likely bulk arm. Morris has made only two starts this season, lasting one and two innings, and the Twins have used him primarily as a reliever.
The under cashes if Minnesota makes the planned handoff before Morris completes the second inning. Detroit also gets Riley Greene back in the heart of the order, giving the top of the lineup enough depth to prevent an effortless six outs. At -120, I’m betting on opener usage and five outs or fewer.

Melton has allowed two earned runs or fewer in six of his last eight starts and 13 of 16 starts this season. His 1.86 ERA is supported by a low 5.9% barrel rate, while his slider and splitter have produced strong whiff rates and expected results.
Minnesota erupted Monday, but Melton is a substantial change from the pitching it faced in that rout. He owns a 1.40 road ERA, and his best weapons give him ways to escape traffic without relying entirely on contact. Even if the Twins collect a few hits, I like Melton to hold them below three earned runs at -125.
