Brewers at Mets

The series is tied at Citi Field, and the finale presents a pronounced starting-pitcher gap. Milwaukee’s -186 moneyline is off the menu, so I’m backing that advantage to produce run-line separation.

Jacob Misiorowski enters with a 1.68 ERA and 0.76 WHIP, compared with Sean Manaea’s 4.31 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. The contact profiles reinforce that difference: Misiorowski has allowed a 3.8% barrel rate and 32.9% hard-hit rate, while Manaea is at 11.3% and 42.4%.

Milwaukee’s lineup also contains six right-handed hitters and one switch-hitter. Manaea has allowed right-handed batters a .266 average and .837 OPS with 14 home runs. Misiorowski, meanwhile, has held left-handed hitters to a .397 OPS and right-handed hitters to .544.

The Mets’ current bullpen is the strongest argument against laying the run: its 2.69 ERA and 1.05 WHIP are better than Milwaukee’s 3.32 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. Recent relief performance points the other way, however, with the Brewers recording a 0.92 bullpen ERA over the last 10 days versus New York’s 3.00. Milwaukee’s +167 season run differential compared with New York’s -46 further supports taking the stronger club to create separation, even with the normal volatility attached to an MLB run line.
