While the Athletics lost their primary slugger Brent Rooker to an oblique strain today, the Mets are navigating their own crisis with Juan Soto sidelined and Jorge Polanco likely out with Achilles bursitis. Without those anchors, the Mets' lineup lacks the punch to punish Ginn’s mistake pitches. Oakland enters this series with significantly higher recent contact quality, boasting a 45.3% hard-hit rate compared to New York’s 35.7%. With Ginn motivated to haunt his former team and the Athletics coming off a momentum-building series win in the Bronx, there is too much value on the Sacramento side to ignore. Give me the underdog and the better expected pitching metrics.
